When tyreke and co come back that'll take more pressure off and given him a little easier time. Nearly 40% on that many attempts is quite good though and he seems to be comfortable.

I know your shtick, at times, is to be obtuse and contrary, but this is embarrassing.

There is no team in the league that wouldn't take Green on his contract over Gordon.

Umm, no, I'm just being correct. Go compare their stats. He is scoring 2.5 times as many points for 1.3 times as much money. You're the one being obtuse here.

Yep, Green is shooting similar percentages with lower volume and a better cast around him.

I am REALLY glad we have Gordon right now and that he's on the court. But his deficiencies are manifold. kind of small and no longer even a "good" finisher at the rim. Going forward, I would only consider him at a bargain price.

How does this make you feel? Are these legit stat that means he's back or just empty stat because we have no other scorers?

May as well call Eric Gordon, Ben Gordon

And this is where you go off the rails. The only stat you're looking at is PPG. Good job, good effort.

More to the point, why is it a bad thing to talk honestly about the players the Pels have? I pull for Eric Gordon. I hope he plays well. I am happy he has been healthy, has turned into an elite 3PT shooter, and looks like he will be able to play NBA ball for several more years. He is a good fit as a shooter in this offense and the results there have been promising already.

I also see that his ability as a primary creator is diminished. That he doesn't finish at the rim the way he used to. And that he is mediocre, at best, on defense. Someone said he is Klay Thompson without the 2PT shooting or defense- which is a much nicer way of saying he's a better version of Jodie Meeks and Anthony Morrow. But the point is the same.

Gordon is overpaid, for sure.

40.3% > 33.3% FG
83.3 > 66.7% FT
3.2 > 2.9 AST/36
1.165 > 0.932 pts/fga

The only clear wins in Green's favor are rebounding and blocking shots. If you go to DRtg, Green has been much better. That said, the team around him is far better defensively, so it's hard

This is absolutely true.

Where is Danny Green? You're moving the goalposts like Boom now. All I said was to slow down on the Danny Green talk and YOU went off the rails.

What a scrub. People were arguing that he was a top 10 SG in the offseason.

On points alone, he's currently 4th in the NBA right now. Harden, Beal, McCollum, EG, Fournier, Wade.

Duh.

He's a career 41% 3P shooter on 4.5 3PA/G. He plays in a system notorious for spreading the wealth and only has roughly 40 3PA on the season. He's a very good perimeter defender and a very good team defender. He's among the best 3 and D guys in the league. Carroll, Matthews, and Middleton all received at least $4M more per year this summer than Green took to stay in SA. None of those guys are demonstrably better than Green. You can argue for each one, but they are all roughly in the same ballpark as a player. There is no doubt in my mind that the Pelicans, and every other team in the league, would take Green over Gordon without hesitation.

Nothing. I have no idea how to respond to a comment about "stats" that focuses only on PPG through 9 games and salary as proof of player quality.

You like Gordon and feel he's been shite on unfairly by many Pels fans. That's true and I agree with you. You're pleased with how he's been playing. So am I. That doesn't mean he's an "asset." He still holes in his game (creating offense for himself/others, finishing at the rim, all aspects of defending), some that I fear may not be able to be fixed. That doesn't take away from what he's done to get healthy and become an elite 3PT shooter. He will continue to score points in this system- I particularly enjoyed his off ball movement v Toronto.

Maybe his flaws can be overcome situationally- playing with a creator (Holiday/Evans) and another good, big, wing defender (????) to protect him some on defense. But to me, at this point in his career, he's a D and 3 wing without much D regardless of how many ppg he scores.

And you keep avoiding that all I said to set you off was "Slow down on Green."
