Croatian forward Dario Saric is leaning toward withdrawing from the 2013 NBA draft, league sources told ESPN.com.

Saric has until June 17 to make a final decision.

Saric is ranked No. 11 by ESPN.com and was projected as a lottery pick. The New Orleans Pelicans, Portland Trail Blazers, Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks had all shown significant interest in Saric.

Pelicans general manager Dell Demps was actually in Croatia earlier this week to scout him in person.

Sources say that Saric, who plays for the Croatian team Cibona, understands his lofty draft position but wants to stay in Europe one more year to hone his skills. He's enjoying his time in Croatia and feels he's not quite ready for the NBA.

The 19-year-old Saric had a rocky start to the season before coming on strong in the Croatian playoffs, averaging 15.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in the playoffs and winning the MVP award for the Croatian finals.

Thats why Demps will tell him that they will draft him and let him stay in Europe a year. I think its a win win. He will not go as high next year in a draft that seems to have more talent and the Pels don't have to use their pick next year on him and can pick one of those better players in that draft.

you're already saying we have no chance of making the playoffs?

Last season many of us including me felt we could sneak into the playoffs if Gordon was healthy. In theory even with no additions next year's team should be better, so why not think "playoffs if Gordon's healthy"? Because much fewer of us believe Gordon will stay healthy.

Demps has surprised us with unexpected moves every offseason so far, so you're right that it's too early to throw in the towel, and on top of that free agency/retirement could potentially knock 3 teams out of the playoff race if CP3/Dwight leave and if Duncan/Pop retire. That being said, everything would have to go pretty smoothly, especially regarding injury, to do what the Warriors did last year and go from 23 wins to 47 wins.

I think we underestimate how good Anthony Davis really is going to be and we forget how good Gordon is fully healthy. That alone coupled with the depth of Anderson, GV, and Lopez along with ~$20m? in cap space? AND now a #6 pick who will be playing with the Pels next year?

If we thought we'd flirt w playoffs last year, there is no reason to think we can't land a spot this year. Outside of the big 3 or 4, we should be able to play with the likes of Houston, GS, and even Memphis

More like $15 million, but yes, there is much potential to improve the team.

With so many young guys, natural improvement, especially on defense, is going to make this team better.

If they can stay healthy and if they make good additions, ~45 wins is quite plausible

Are we gonna contend for a title this year? No way. But to say we are delusional if we think will make a playoff run when we haven't even drafted or spent $1 in FA, is just asinine to me.

It's the already built in excuses that make me scratch my head as a fan.

agreed again.

If we strike out in FA, I will back my expectations down a little. If we can get a good free agent or two and get a decent draft pick, I think we can contend for a playoff spot.

Also, we need to see what other teams do as well. Does Dallas or Houston get Dwight Howard? Where does CP3 go? Will Kobe be amnestied? What does the loss of George Karl mean? Will AI opt out and where does he go?

I'm working on the cap room figures now. I have some errands to do, but I hope to have them out by tomorrow.

I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions on the existing page or those. Whatever is useful will be considered.

Show the cap space. People don't like doing math. Maybe underneath "Guaranteed and Total" you can add 2 rows for minimum cap space if all options are picked up and maximum cap space if all options are dropped.

All that is there, along with allowed exceptions and some text on the matter.

Separate pages for the simple salary situation, room, trade data.

Putting it all on one clouds the issue.

Am I just missing it or are you saying it isn't live yet? I don't see it here LINK /

The page is pretty lengthy, but it's good information. Pack it with as much as possible just make sure the most sought after bits are easy to find. Those that need to be dug up are probably only relevant to the people that do digging anyway.

I agree. I think it is more along the lines of saying it is delusional to say it is playoffs or bust. I don't believe that the playoffs are a pipe dream, but I also don't think the season is a complete failure if we don't make the playoffs.

Thrillhouse posted his 1st vs. 2nd half splits the other day and there was a big difference between the 2 (game halves, not season halves). Basically if you get the 1st half production for a full game Gordon is a decently efficient 20ppg scorer. Hopefully fully healthy Gordon looks like 1st quarter Gordon.

Yeah but that is a big if. I just am tired of having blind faith in this guy. I am stilling willing to give him a chance (meaning I am not in the get rid of him camp), but I just have very low expectations. Hope he surprises me.

Not live. I'll be a group of a pages with different focus. That one the basic page. The one I'm discussing is the second page.

Maybe my idea sucks, we'll see. I hope to have it up tonight.

Sounds good. I keep telling myself I'll set up a spreadsheet one of these days but I never do and have to calculate stuff fresh every time It will be nice to have a comprehensive resource for this.
