We pay Asik $16M this year to not play more than 25 minutes per game.

He only counts $8.3 million towards the cap. If it weren't for the unintended consequences of a CBA rule that shifted the yearly distribution of his salary then that's all he'd be getting paid this year. I get why people hate Asik, but distorting the truth in an attempt to make your claim more powerful just shows that you feel your position needs to be strengthened.

He was a joke last night against the weakest front court in the league.

He's not there to stop the weakest front court in the league that doesn't actually have a healthy true center on the roster. Our big physical center couldn't run with a bunch of Power Forwards, the only person that seems surprised by this is Monty.

The Spurs needed Splitter to get to the Finals but needed Diaw to win the Finals. How much you pay a player who can't help you 100% of the time is a legit question, but just because a player can't help you 100% of the time doesn't mean you don't need that player to contend.

His value is at an all time low wouldn't you think?

Why? His numbers are "down" but he's playing 7 less MPG and taking less shots. His per 36 numbers are on par with last season's.

Guys like Channing Frye and Ilyasova are getting buzz in trade rumors right now, seemingly for decent returns judging by the rumors. There are only so many legit stretch 4s out there, and Anderson is still one of the best, and he's on a friendly deal. His value is fine IMO

Anderson for Tobias Harris and Channing Frye's bad contract. Can throw in that 2nd rounder and/or Withey, too.

They aren't sure about giving Harris a big deal and they have Aaron Gordon waiting to take his spot.
