I agree. I like a Sullinger/Davis pairing. Yes playing Bynum or Howard would be a problem, but its a problem for everyone.

Just how much shorter is Sullinger than Okafor?

I don't like it. By drafting Sullinger you're either drafting a back up in the top 10 at a position we already have two guys that are more than serviceable there, or you're playing Davis at center. I think we could play Davis at center in spurts, but if you play him there full time with Sullinger at PF, then that gives you two slightly undersized guys in your front court.

"positions are dead" is almost becoming a cliche but it really is true. Think of roles more than positions. Kaman is a center but he is often used like a PF in the pick and pop game. I do have doubts about how high Sullinger's ceiling is, but having Sullinger post up while Davis spaces the floor or gets ready to cut/clean up from the weak side is not 2 guys playing the same position.

I'm more concerned about the Defensive end. While Davis is an elite defender, that combination would get abused by say, Memphis or the Lakers.

I think Sullinger's ceiling is way better than Big Baby.

SCORING

Sullinger is the only low post scorer coming out. He's got legit post moves and ability on the block.

Robinson/Davis have potential on the block, but are not Sullnger's class right now

But I really feel like PF is a strength for us right now, while SCORING and ATHLETICISM is a massive concern.

Gotta upgrade the scoring at 1, backup 2, or 3.

I'm assuming you are saying this as in AD is on the team, and I agree 100%.

I think he's probably slightly shorter, but even if they are the same size, its still the same problem we've had for several years.

I'm kind of sick of the Hornets being undersized in the frontcourt.

And its also a matter of athleticism...I want more "above the rim" players.

And I know people will point out Dejuan Blair, but Blair was picked in the 2nd round, not 10th overall.

Yeah, I'm not really pushing for Sullinger, I'm just not against another "PF" if they bring a complimentary skill set we are currently lacking.

Playing any NBA competition with Sullinger as a starter is dooming yourself. When an OSU fan who watched him play for a whole season claims he's a pussy and will at most be an ok backup, I tend to believe them.

I think Moultrie is one of the most intriguing players in the draft. I thought he was the second best player in the SEC this year, behind Davis -- but not far behind.

I like him better than Sullinger and Henson, and just a notch below T-Rob. He has gotten rave reviews at all of his pro workouts. He will be a solid player in the NBA, if not a star.

I didn't watch a lot of Sullinger this year, but he seems like a little bit better version of Glenn Davis, not a Kevin Love type player.

I don't think we draft him because he's not a defensive type of guy Monty seems to like. That's the reason I think we go with Rivers because he creates defensive mismatches with his length.

Actually, the more I think of matching up Gordon, Davis and Rivers, the more I like it.

I agree. I want Lillard. If he's not there, I would be very happy with Sullinger and think it could work.

West/TC worked. Davis/Sullinger could work

Meh. There are fans of every team that think good/great players are bums. See: David West.

I judge more one what scouts or my own eyes tell me.

My own eyes tell me that Sullinger was a good college player, and could be an average to good PF/backup frontcourt player for some team, but I don't think he fits great for us.

My main concern with picking Sullinger is how he'll translate against taller, better athletes in the post. I realize that not many post players had success against Kansas this year, but his performance against them has me nervous. Additionally, how well can he defend? Seemed like he was in foul trouble decently often. You'd like to think that that'll improve with experience, but that improvement will be hindered a bit by the fact that he's going to be guarding better athletes night in and night out.

And as Fun Bunch has mentioned, we need scoring on the wing and we do not need more undersized bigs.

That's why I'm not a big fan of Sullinger... but I'd be pretty ok with anyone at 10 after getting Davis at 1.

I'm starting to warm up to Moultrie too. I really want another scorer at the 1 or 3 at #10, but I think Moultrie and Davis could work well next to each other

Maybe, but if Davis fills out he will be a 5 in this league.
