I'd rather give up Bayless than Thornton

I don't know how I feel about this. I'll wait until Lester comments.

first of all, my opinion is people get caught up in rumors too much, esp recently involving Peja for some "big player". There are a lot of bad contracts out there on the market that people are trying to dump. I guess instead of waiting, the Hornets wanted to be proactive and get rid of him.

I think we'll have to sit back and wait and see what other trades go down involving expiring. I dont think this is a bad trade in terms of depth, but its not one that will knock your socks off with "names". When some other deals go down, maybe we can judge it in that regard.

as far as the players, Jack is one of the better backup PG's in the league. He's NOT Jarrod Bayless. He is a better passer, a much better shooter, and a bigger body. He's a high quality bench player and would give us a true PG to back up CP3 that isnt on the roster now.

Andersen is another big body in the paint. He's a lot like Jason Smith. He has some 3pt range though.

who knows what happens with MArcus Banks. Sounds just like another contract we'll let expire in the offseason. Or maybe he has some value to another team in a trade. I cant see him playing much unless an injury occurs.

I still dont think we'll be able to resign MT5 in the offseason.

With what you said Lester, this sounds like a good trade... Maybe the Bosh TE and that Banks guy will give us another trade.

also the traded draft pick for Bayless is not really a big deal. If we finish the season as we have been playing, you're looking at a very late 1st round pick. Big deal.

In what's expected to be an extra thin draft.

I'm trying to remember where I've heard of Marcus Banks....was he on the Toros roster perhaps? I'll bet that is where I recall hearing of him...drafted by the Spurs and put on the Toros

I like the addition of Andersen. And I think Jack is an upgrade over Bayless.

I hope we can find some more interior help, and another perimeter shooter though
