Here's how I would want the trade to go down:

Hornets trade: Peja, Thornton, and 2012 first round pick

Raptors trade: Andrea Bargnani

I guess this means they really do want to hang on the Thornton, at least for now.

Thornton learning to play defense and earning his minutes back is the best outcome with him for the Hornets.

I can see them wanting Jack but Demps must have gotten zero interest in Peja if we do this trade.

Awesome trade.

Bayless has brought almost nothing and this gets them 4 million under the tax. It also would give us a larger TPE than we have now.

Pops can be cut and the Hornets would have a roster spot and 4.5 million to play with as the season goes on. When other teams are looking to dump, we can be buyers.

Season MPG FG% 3p% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
Career 14.1 0.439 0.341 0.716 0.8 2.4 3.3 0.7 0.2 0.2 0.6 1.8 5.7

Doesn't sound like the man we need to me.

If this trade goes down then we got rid of a first round pick for nothing

You obviously have seen 1, maybe 2 Hornets games.

ESPN Rumors has the breakdown of how the trade would work. I would copy and paste it, but I'm pretty sure that's against the rules.

They said it would have to be broken down into two trades:
1. Peja for Anderson, Banks, and Jack
2. Bayless for the Chris Bosh trade exception

It said it would put us under the cap for $3.9 mil

I thought trading just to get under the cap was why we sucked last year?

I know you nutted over the 4th quarter of the Clippers game, but there is a reason Monty is ok with trading one of his favorite people.

We are 10-1 and Dell doesn't need to mess with anything right now. Just let Peja's contract expire

I agree

And although i dont like how strange this has gotten(I think we've basically now given up Peja and our 1st rounder for Jack) and i dont really like the trade, i think it does makes us a better team.

Well I'm sorry Bayless isn't coming off the bench and scoring 15 ppg for you but he is doing what he needs to do.

Glad an idiot like you isn't the GM of the team.

I don't know how I feel about this. I'll wait until Lester comments.

That would allow us to pick up a $4 million player with a trade exception when teams start dumping. If this goes down Peja had no trade value and they are positioning themselves as best they can. It also says they are quickly admitting Bayless was a mistake and trying to correct it, which is a good thing.

That is a good point. You don't go from trying to acquire Melo and Iggy to a trade like this just for no reason.

Peja and his contract are still better at the moment than anything Toronto will give up

Pretty obvious now why Peja was dressed these past few games. They were clearly trying to show he could at least walk around out there

This. Peja and his contract are gone after this season anyway, and then we can try to get something better than this trash Toronto is offering.
