Do the Pelicans fan base have the most pretentious writers?

Pretty much....

For the most part, they are part-time bloggers with huge egos. They are not interested in discussion. They think their opinion pieces are indeed fact and if they hear info from another blogger, it is "inside info."

Have you ever looked at other team blogs? No joke that BSS is one of the best. TBW has some great writers. All of these guys really know their stuff, and the commitment it takes to do this is no joke. I know. I couldn't keep it up.

Also, (and I can speak with a little experience here) the vast majority of replies they get on twitter/in comments ARE uninformed. Doesn't help that guys like Fletch have a much larger audience (locally, at least) and spew stuff that makes zero sense and contribute to the relative lack of knowledge in the fan base.

That being said, guys can certainly go overboard in ridiculing questions or comments. It happens. They are human and they don't make a cent on the hours they put in. It is frustrating answering the same question about Greg Monroe 10,000 times.

However, I don't get harping on these guys. They provide tons of content for fans (no matter how many or few read) for free and do a great job of elevating the overall discussion of the team. At the end of the day, you don't have to read, follow, or listen to anyone you don't want to. You don't like them? Don't read. It's that simple. I stopped following Fletch years ago and I am a happier person for it. We're all on the same team here.

Because I have a mind of my own? I said Jrue is a ok player but he is madly overrated here. The best quality about him is that he's a easy fit on most teams but may not even be a top 15 pf. Or maybe because I think Tyreke is a valuable player to this team. I never said he should be in the long term plans but I've seen him help us win and if a guy helps us win he's good in my book. Or maybe because I don't like Hield because I see him as a role player when this team desperately needs another star player. I think picking him would be looking to play it safe when we need to take risk to get AD to stay here. I have different opinions because I pay attention than just the pelicans I watch all team. I think it's dumb how majority of the people here every year gawk over more offensive minded players when we constantly ignore how bad this team defense has been. I have my own opinions and don't follows others to seem cool. This is the same board that glorifies any player that can shoot 3's and wants to copy the formula of every team that wins the tittle. You can't play like another team because you don't have that team players.

I've stopped following Dfish for TBW. He's one guy that annoys me I had to even unfollow TBW twitter account because he post there the most. MM has also made going to PR unbearable and it doesn't make it any better the poster on their treat him as their leader and it stroke his ego.

Never had an issue with David Fisher. He might actually be one of my favorite writers on TBW. He seems to put a good amount of thought, logic and empirical evidence into his posts and I appreciate that. The one time I caught a conversation with him on Pelicans Report he handled a poster that seemed to have a disturbing level of hate and trollish behavior while remaining well composed.

Something tells me though that MM would just be another poster that people disagree with occasionally if he was just some unknown guy/girl named PelicansFan784 or something. But because he is posting by name elsewhere and his handle on here is pretty well known to be associated with him, he gets greater level of scrutiny and hate. He is a known person in a sea of anonymous forum dwellers. So people will tend to remember his posts more often because he stands out in that sense. At least thats what I have witnessed.

You're right, I don't think he would be a top 15 pf, even in the age of small ball.
