Not sure I get the reference to Posey.

same type player, backup on championship team, more production with bigger role theory... really see nothing correlated there?

Difference is Barnes is 24 and Posey was 30+

Posey was an aging veteran brought in to be a bench player to provide defense and a locker room presence. He was brought in on an MLE contract (although that was significantly overpaying). Barnes is a young player and a full time starter with the Warriors who will likely get paid like a potential all-star. Other than playing the same position, there is really no comparison.

He's much closer to Ariza than Posey

I agree the posey Barnes comparison is terrible the age difference alone makes it a bad one and Barnes has been shooting the ball really good in the finals he just doesn't shoot more then 11 times and he would be our small ball 4 which we need

Both players, that mind you, were major misfires by the teams that overpaid based on their times on championship teams.

So I am not sure what people are getting so excited about us signing a guy that people are comparing to Ariza coming off the Lakers? Thats not a positive. The other thing with Ariza was his reputation for coming up big in the playoffs and big games. We have seen none of that from Barnes so far.

I am a huge Barnes guy, so I hope we get him. He is like the polar opposite of Anderson. A stretch 4 that is not a prolific shooter, but super athletic and a solid defender. He is also very unselfish and a winner. We need a few guys that have been there and win some rings. If Asik is getting 15+, I'm very comfortable giving Barnes 20..

Barnes is terrible and paying him would be the death knell of the AD era

Are we sure Barnes is better than Ennis?

Barnes needed to step up with Draymond out tonight. Has fell flat on his face. Perfect example why I want to stay away.

He's missing wide open 3's, something he normally does not do.

Boom! Tonight encapsulates why it is insane that people want to throw 20 million at this guy.

Give me a break!

He was given a pivotal role when Green was suspended and then Bogut went down. Should of been able to abuse some of his defenders tonight like Love. The result? 2-13 and 5 boards. He should be ashamed.

He is either going to get paid by the Warriors for continuity purposes or run off to a glamour market like the Lakers and under-perform while cashing in a ridiculous pay check.

Who's reactionary? He has been a dud every time his number has been called this post season.

He is a solid player in a vacuum but compared to his expected market demand? He is grossly, disgustingly over-inflated. Wise organizations will stay the hell away.

Tonight was also his audition for being that swing 2-4 people talked about him being for us. He failed. Bad.

I don't care about the missed shots. Happens to everyone. Guy is goofy and unsure of himself. He is a league average player, at best. And I don't see the upside. He would have shown the ability to be a playmaker by now if it was in him.

I'd pay him like a 5th or 6th man. I refuse to pay him like a number 2

Bingo. He is in his perfect role right now IMO. 4th-5th man on a championship caliber team. A guy that you can swap around minutes and usage based on how others and he is playing. Someone you don't want to have to lean on unless you are in a major pinch.

You give this guy 20 million and you are committing major resources and expectations for him to be an every game contributor on both sides of the ball and he has shown no indication he can be that.

People will see how replaceable Barnes is when GS doesn't pay him. Whatever team that pays him is nuts

Guy plays with 3 All NBA players plus Bogut, who is an All Def team guy. All he has to do it not suck
