13%? Simmons has a great chance if healthy put up solid numbers. Ingram may take some time. Not sure about Brown. Dunn may put up good numbers and get a lot of PT, Murray may take a bit.... Hield probably has a great shot if he plays enough minutes for us in which he should cause we suck and have no outside shooting currently.

I'd think he has a decent shot to get it. But Ben Simmons will be the focal point of a bad team. So it's gonna be hard to beat him

I've always believed that hield would outperform all rookies this year just because he's the most nba ready. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see him win it.

You need to get minutes to win ROY. To get minutes, you need to play in a lot of games. He is playing for a franchise with a voodoo curse; so I will say 10%. It would be 25-30 if we had the curse removed

The more I think about the more I think it will probably be pretty hard for him to win it.

You have to imagine the team is going to let Evans and Jrue start. Which puts Hield at a disadvantage when guys like Simmons and Ingram are gonna get a ton of burn and more importantly usage.

Not to mention unlike the Lakers and Sixers, the Pels will start the season with their eyes on the playoffs. If QPon is healthy and they add guys like Bazemore, no way Buddy gets enough minutes. Even if he's a complete stud rookies are almost always bad on defense, no way he moves ahead of QPon and Bazemore on the depth chart unless one or both are in a horrible shooting slump.

I can see the Lillard parallels: 6th pick, older player that improved every year in college, elite level offense capable.

But I agree I don't think he gets the usage early in the season. The press builds a narrative very early in the season that usually sticks throughout the season. If he's not lighting it up early and getting play, then he won't get it.

I'd say he's behind Simmons and Ingram, not Dunn.

Simmons is already philly's best player by default.

If they don't move Rubio or Lavine, Dunn is going to be coming off the bench at first and he's going to be arguably their 4th best player (behind KAT, Wiggins, and Lavine - rubio won't shoot much).

Ingram is going to be their 2nd or 3rd best player, but he has to get the ball from Russell, Clarkson, and maybe a max-free agent.

Hield is going to be the 3rd or 4th best player behind AD, Tyreke, and Jrue. EG was our player with the 4th most FGA, so Hield could realistically fit into that slot with Ryno gone and us not going to land a stud SF.

Well seeing how Hield is playing for the Pelicans I am going to say 0.02%.
