i think the expiring would really have value in this scenario. the problem is ryno/asik for monroe would be laughable

Yea I'm just saying in general
In our case the expiring we can offer MIL isn't going to bring us anything we want, unless we can swing Henson somehow
If you want Middleton from them they're gonna want holiday, if they even want anything from us at all. They are high AF on KM

I bet they're still kicking themselves over knight

Agree with Slo about Asik.
Maybe Jrue, Asik and MIL gets the right to swap picks with us for MCW, Henson, KM?
Dump Evans in the summer and get a PG? PG's are much easier to get than legit 2 way wings.
ETA: add a top 2 or 3 protection to our pick.

No doubt
Mcw is one of those guys kind of like josh smith; they insist on shooting instead of focusing all their energy in the stuff they actually do well. I could see mcw being a PG on a title contender if he adapted a game like rondo

I don't think they take on Asik after their Monroe mistake
Posted on 2/4/16 at 2:52 pm to GynoSandberg
I mean they had Henson already who's a really good rim protector and more athletic than Greg.
Shoulda went for ward with Knight/Henson than a dumb splash play for Monroe.

They outlined the Bucks situation on one of Woj's first podcasts several weeks back. Basically the good team you saw last year was built by the actual GM Pre Jason Kidd. Nearly every move they've made since then that has blown up in their face are Jason Kidd moves and he needs to fail upwards in a hurry so he can't do anymore damage to the team.

I'm ok giving up Jrue if we get Middleton back. I have no problem with this team using Tyreke as the starting PG. He has played his best in his NBA career when he plays PG.
I'd prefer to keep our pick, but i wouldn't care about giving away ONE first round pick and whatever else not named Jrue or AD for Middleton.

On top of it all not working there, and them wanting to blow it up to improve lotto odds, I think what they are really trying to do is dump Greg's contract now, so they can get another Center under max contract this offseason at $20million per in this deep FA class, rather than wait till Greg likely opts out before 2017-18, and they end up spending $25mm per on a less talented option... While Khris was a great signing for them, the future there is Jabari and Giannis. Khris is totally gettable. Dumping Greg, MCW and moving Khris could get them to below $22mm in salary, $67 million to spend in the offseason. They will throw in Khris purely to hit reset while they can.
Bucks QUICKLY move passed everyone on the race to the bottom with a complete tank, and could finish 4th or 5th from the bottom, and lotto luck aside, immediately be the leader for Kris Dunn's services.
Let's get everything done at once. Danny Ainge's Celtics wants to make some moves, but it doesn't look like Love or Howard are available right now. Few rumors have been floated that they would like Tyreke. Let's give them our Top 3 protected 1st round pick, to take Asik in this deal. *(They send one of their late 1sts to Bucks). They have almost 80 million in free cap next year, they'd commit the $ for a bench center, to play behind whoever they land to pick up our pick and Reke. The pick gives them more ammo to get into the Top 2 in the draft if the lotto balls don't bounce their way. If the Cavs lose this championship, Love will be gone to Boston for a package of Jae Crowder and picks. Jae will be replaced by Ben Simmons or Brandon Ingram. MAX Dwight signs too for near $30mm, and they are starting Dwight/Love/Stud Rookie SF/Thomas/Bradley ... Smart/Asik/Olynyk off the bench... and they are still $10 million under the cap.
We pull the trigger on Ryno for Gay, and we creep over the cap for 2016-17, starting Greg/AD23/Gay/Middleton/Jrue ... MCW/Ajinca/QPon/Dante off the bench.

If you could get a late 1st or young player on a rookie deal for Ryno, would Milwaukee really get better offers than 2 1sts?
I think some other teams could probably put together a better package. A late first in this draft is not worth much. If we add Middelton to this team, our draft pick probably ends up 12-14. That's not a lot of return for a two-way wing who can shoot locked up long term.
The report said they are looking to trade Monroe and MCW, but that the only player off the table is Giannis, though it would have to be a wow offer to get Parker or Middleton. I don't think a pick outside the top 5 and a late pick in this draft is a wow offer.

You should be banned from the trade machine

:) None of it is happening. If we are gonna trade and mocksterbate, let's do it big!

The Bucks aren't going to let Middleton and Monroe go just for $33 million in cap space next year and no extra draft picks.
Nice dream though. I like it.

I hate so many parts of that trade for so many reasons, but this is the biggest problem. Asik is not this year's problem. In fact once he played his way back into shape, he's been exactly the player we hoped he would be, bringing his defense and rebounding but finishing at the rim at 60% like he did in Houston. I think the odds are high that you can dump him for much less than a likely lottery pick if you wait until 2017.

Dell has to be working the phones right now, correct? KM could actually keep him employed.
Posted on 2/4/16 at 3:14 pm to TigerinATL
I don't really think Asik is going anywhere either... i'm sticking by us ending up with Jakob Poeltl in the draft, and keeping Ryno. What you said is exactly true, he is doing what he was brought here to do... It's just not exactly a perfect Gentry-fit. Any center at all with any skills making AVG $10 million per year, is going to look like a bargain in a few months.

Seriously though, that deal aside... the Boston/Cavs stuff is VERY realistic this offseason, if not sooner. The kicker is they still get to swap 2017 1sts with Brooklyn if they want. They could be starting Dwight/Love/Simmons/Thomas/Bradley ... and be in the conference finals. Then swap a bottom 5 pick, for a top 5 pick... LOL Celtics are BACK baby, bout to blow UP.

Loomis picked Demps over Monty when it was less costly to fire Demps than Monty. He is probably going to give Demps every chance to save his job because Loomis bet on Demps just like Demps bet on Gentry fixing his flawed roster. If the Bucks are really looking to blow it up and not just move their bad contracts, I think Demps could sell a trade like I outlined to Loomis if the Bucks didn't have any better offers.
