I was screaming to put him in with about 4 minutes left when we kept getting dominated on the glass.

With the limited voice I had left in OT, I screamed at the top of my lungs, "OMER ASIK." I shite you not, Monty motioned to Asik right after. Everyone around me was like holy shite.

notice that when he came in, we got back into it in OT

What? I'm looking at the play by play right now.
Asik came in for Anderson at 3:29 down 2. Barnes grabbed an OREB on the next possession. The Warriors then hit a 3, had an and 1, and a dunk on the 3 possessions Asik played in OT.
The Pels hit 2 jumpers (Gordon's foot on the line and Davis) before calling a TO after the dunk.
Anderson came back in for Asik at 1:51 down 6.

rebounding was definitely a problem then, cause i remember saying "shite they are getting every rebound.".
still at that point the game was in hand, they were scoring but we were trading buckets with them. And i remember looking out there and wondering who Asik would guard.
I think there was fear of if they put Asik in, would they hack him and slow the game down and try and inch back down. I think Monty was comfortable with attempting to just trade baskets with them, that there wouldnt be enough time in the game for them to actually win it.

So I have to ask. Do y'all think the organization would want to resign Asik if he can't be trusted to play in the 4th quarter of a pretty much do or die game?

Exactly. The rebounding was bad. But the offense was awful. They had 103 w/ 5:10 left. They ended regulation w/ 108.

Most teams go small in the playoffs. If there is one thing I hope this board learns, it is that playoff basketball is played via small ball.
The Spurs gave Splitter big $ to be a rotation player behind Duncan in the playoffs. I'd be fine with it for Asik.

Asking Asik to come in cold and single handedly stop the Warriors offensive rebounding onslaught in overtime isn't even comparable to him protecting a big lead in my opinion. OT was a foregone conclusion. It's shocking we recovered to have a shot.

Tough to say. Played so well post ASB, pre playoffs. I definitely think it says something about trust and not playing in big game situations. What he is probably going to command and what we want to offer, mixed in with his current role, who knows?

the Warriors are a bad matchup for him.
against any other West team in the playoffs, he's likely in the game

I don't think you let him walk, there just isn't any way to get a comparable replacement without hurting another part of the roster. Sign Asik to a 1 year over pay deal, then in 2016 get a $5 million center like Zaza (will possibly cost $7 under the new cap) and use the remaining cap space to add a SF, and replace or bring back Gordon/Ryno.

Thats fair. But asking/expecting him to produce in this series during a crucial stretch when he's clearly not been good is pretty strange to me.

Maybe so, but it's not just the Warriors. He sits in the 4th on multiple occasions.

He sat more than he played throughout the season.

Who knows. Its easy to talk about after captin arse
Ryno was good on one end. Bad on another. Playoff basketball
Tough loss

Before he came out in game 2 and 3, he was picking up steam. He gave up less orebs when he was in as opposed to when he was out. That is a difference between a win and loss.

Half of the Warriors' possessions were awful. They were just running down and letting Curry or Thompson chunk up difficult shots.
The offensive rebounding is what killed the Pels. You're up by 15, with a limited amount of time left. In that situation, you have to limit your opponents' chances.
In overtime, once the Warriors had settled down, it was too late for Asik at that point IMO. But I guess since Bogut was in for GS, Monty wanted Asik in too.

Asik is a Net -22 in 68 minutes in this series. GSW has a 110 ORating when he's on the floor, 108 when he's off. The Pels have an 88 ORating when he plays, 114 when he sits.
Even the stingy Davis/Asik is at 109 DRating, 90 ORating. He's not a good option in this series.
