Say you could flip AD to the Sixers for their #1, the Lakers #1, and Ben Simmons.

Would you do it? Pretty tempting seeing as we would have Simmons, Heild, and likely 3 top 6 picks after we tank the rest of the season.

This is unrealistic, but I tell you what is realistic....

If this FO doesn't get AD a competitive squad next season you will start to hear more rumblings from AD camp about forcing a trade.

Demps would end up trading those two first rounders for Timofey Mozgov, Bruno Caboclo and cash considerations.

Probably not. Once you have a superstar its pretty hard to trade one.

I certainly wouldn't do it during the season. You don't want to make Philly's pick worse.

I wouldn't. I would do Celtics today though

Nets pick the next two years, Jaylen Brown, A guy like Smart or Bradley I can flip for another first, and the big they took in the first this year that they send overseas

Do it today and Pels stick for rest of the year and get two top 5 picks. Probably have two more top five picks next year. Those four players plus Buddy would be a fun nucleus if you get the right coach

Superstars are hard to trade because they are always at the tail end of the contract. No one will shell out for a guy that may or may not re-sign.

Im not a fan of trading him but there is a good reason to do it soon. His value will never be higher than when he's got a few years on it.

Because they are almost impossible to get.

Once you get one you hold on for dear life until you have to let them go.

The Celtics have had a million picks and they still can't get one.

They're hoping draft picks into a superstar, yet brown has underwhelmed vastly. They have 2 more shots via Brooklyn right? They may find it this year and are primed to do damage if they can.

Only if they took that scrub Asiks contract

And even then, probably not. Simmons may be the next LeBron, or he may just be an injury prone could have been

I would go for it.

AD is oft-injured. its just going to get worse as he gets older. He probably will go to a better (franchise, team, city, whatever he likes) anyway next chance he gets so...

Simmons is going to get better.

You have confidence in your draft scouting assessments. You have all 3 of those #1's to get lucky. if even one hits big, you have Simmons and an all star. if all 3 are just 'starters', you are solid. maybe one or two can't make it in Spain and end up in the Philippines.

I am for it.

PHI wouldn't do it but this would at least get me thinking:

Simmons, Saric, Covington +
2017 Lakers 1st, 2017 PHI/SAC 1st, 2019 SAC 1st
Philly takes back Asik + AA

PHI is probably the only team with assets to tempt me out of AD.
