still played some of his rookie year as a 22 year old. Isnt this an age thing to you?

Seems weird since some of the anti Hield guys seem to love Kris Dunn despite that he is the same age

I'd be thrilled with either

Dunn can be a fast attacking guard like Rose/Westbrook/Wall etc. You can have Buddy playing adequate defense averaging 18/2, or you can have Dunn playing good defense averaging 18/6. Is it a ton of difference? No, but it would be easier to get the scorer via trade/FA than the 2 way attacking guard, especially on a rookie contract.

Also "anti Hield" is a mischaracterization based on one poster who needs to dial it back. I do not believe any picnic tables will be broken on draft night if Hield is drafted.

Dunn and Jrue together would be a nightmare for opposing backcourts

I admittedly haven't watched much of Dunn but it seems a lot of the downsides to Hield could also be applied to Dunn. Sure he's more athletic and a better passer but is an inconsistent scorer and is the same age.

True, don't mean to throw that on you

I guess I'm to the point where I don't really see any player in the draft not named Simmons or Ingram that will be a #2 player to AD, so if we don't get into the lottery, take the guy that has the best chance to be a contributor and that is Hield. But I guess we should wait until the lottery before bitching about who to pick.

Maybe?

Can Dunn finally improve his shot? Can he finish better around the rim? Learn to play better off ball? Turn the ball over less? Improve his defensive fundamentals and focus? Can we keep him injury free? Otherwise we kinda already have that with Evans. Dunn is just a rawer version....Which is a bit worrying for a 22 year old.

I'd wager he has far higher BBall IQ and he's already ahead defensively

If there's one thing this staff can do is fix shots
