LINK
1. Eric Gordon and a top-3 protected 2016 1st rounder for Rudy Gay and Ben McLemore
2. Omer Asik, Eric Gordon, and (top-3 protected) 1st round pick for Dwight Howard, KJ McDaniels, and Marcus Thornton
3. Omer Asik and (top-10 protected) 1st round Pick for Joakim Noah
4. Alexis Ajinca, Dante Cunningham, Toney Douglas and (top-3 protected) 1st round pick for Thaddeus Young
i would do #3 in a heartbeat

Every single one of those makes me want to puke

i dont hate any of those...
not that any are likely but he makes a good point that matching a seller with the pels as a buyer is going to be difficult

Noah is a shell of his former self. And then we he walks after this year, we'd have nothing to show for it.
I could get behind #1, if i had to choose. But none of those make it move.

I'd consider the Dwight one if the pick wasn't involved, they can even keep KJ and MT5. I just really, really, really don't like Asik's contract, and I've been one of Asik's bigger defenders on the board.

he's 30, he's still an impactful player...an incredible facilitator at the 5 and a tenacious defender

I don't like any of that.
The only reason to do the Noah trade is to get rid of Asik's contract. Why do that when you just resigned him?
Noah also sucks royal arse now.
Worst year as a pro last year and is much worse so far this year.

asik/gordon for howard would be a "blow it up" move for HOU though

Meh.
Howard plays like 55 games a year at best at this point. That's including playoffs.

They just fired their head coach and are currently the 12 seed, further shaking it up may not be out of the question. Dwight may be viewed as an expiring with a player option which means less return, and at $22 million, there won't be too many teams Houston can dance with. Turning Dwight into Asik saves them $13 million next season, and they have a team option on Lawson, so cut him and save another $13 (not sure if partially guaranteed). That gives Houston a lot of cap space to reload.

It sure would be nice to have a draft pick one of these years

Asik and a 1st for fricking Joakim Noah is honestly one of the worst hypothetical trades I've ever seen
ETA: The 4th proposal might be even worse

Howard is already injury prone and yall want him on our team?
With our medical staff, he'd roll over and die just from stepping foot in our facilities.
maybe we should do it afterall

The pick protections are far too relaxed for my taste. Giving up a likely lottery, if not top 10, pick for any of these guys is pretty far out there, especially #1 and #4. Davis is still 22. They can draft players that can help and fit the "timeline"
Both Howard and Noah are interesting. I don't really trust either guy's body (especially Noah) over the next few years. Both will be free agents this summer (Howard has a player option that I can't imagine he won't exercise with the cap spike and his age). Both are over 30 bigs losing mobility at a time when that is more precious than ever. I wouldn't want to max Howard out and I wouldn't want to give Noah much money at all at this point.
Moving for either Howard or Noah makes this sequence of events a reality: spending a 1st to get Asik, re-signing him, and spending another 1st to dump him in the span of 18 months. Say they do just that and either guy doesn't come back for whatever reason; no starting 5 and no developing prospects.

that is true...

I also think with the abysmal start they are less likely to make any kind of trade. Whatever does happen this year is going to be less than it could/should have been

those trades are all awful.
I would want Dell fired immediately if we did any of them.
