Why Does Nickelback Get So Much Hate?

I know most of their songs sound similar, but they aren't awful. I actually like a few of their songs. I think people just hate them because it's the cool thing to do.

When the world was suppose to end last year, I put Nickelback's "If today was your last day" on repeat, because dammit, if it's my last day, I was going to make it the longest day ever.

I was at Best Buy a while back in the music section and there were like 6 different Nickelback albums on the shelf. Like three regular albums, a couple of b-side albums and one with a single and more b-sides. I was like, who the frick is gonna buy all this shite?
