I hate them because they are the Walmart of music. A commercially driven band with absolutely no creativity. Everything sounds the same.
Not to mention Kroger is the biggest chochbag of all time.

The fact remains that Nickelback is a very talented band. They write tight songs that the masses enjoy listening to. Hard rock done the country music way.

I disagree. Top 20 does what it is supposed to do which is to be simple and catchy. I'd say 90% of it is pretty good for what it is. Nickelback, on the other hand, had a bad formula to begin with and they beat it to death. Also, Chad Kroeger is one of the worst rock vocalists, ever.
Most pop music is the equivalent of, say, a chocolate cake. It's good for dessert but eat it for dinner and you will have an upset stomach. Nickelback is the equivalent of candy corn.

I know people that listen to them and that's fine with me. At the same time these people also find bands like 3 Doors Down pleasing, which have about the same amount of talent or lack-of. IMO I dislike them due to the fact that they are everything that is wrong with music. An overproduced, bland and fairly untalented cheese-rock band.

They are the worst kind of artist. It is one thing to aspire to something great and fail. That happens all the time, and that can actually be interesting in its own way. But to aspire to mediocrity and succeed is something I find beneath artistic contempt.
They set out to create bland, forgettable music. It is so cynical that they are worthy of every ounce of hate they get. Nickelback isn't what's wrong in music, they are what's wrong in so much of pop culture. It is the triumph of the mediocre.

Come one man. We understand you don't like Nickelback but comparing his voice to Scott Stapp? Lulz. It's like night and day.
Whether you like the music or not Stapp and Kroger can sing their asses off.
