Who is the one band or artist you love...

that you are convinced that any sane person who listened to them would love them too.
Mine would have to be Gillian Welch/The Dave Rawlings Machine. Any time I hear her voice combined with that antique Epiphone Olympic, I am mesmerized. ETA... Time (The Revelator)
I'm a bit slanted towards the Americana/Folk style...but I'm looking to expand my horizons a bit. What cha got for me?

I had friends who loved them when I was in school. I remember them playing in Knoxville, but I never listened to them. I'll give them another look. Thanks.

I saw them at The Varsity. I love their music.

Check out gregory alan isakov, he's one of my favorites. I would put him more under singer/songwriter, but he might be your thing.
the stable song

I've only really heard a small amount of her stuff. Love her duet with John Prine on In Spite of Ourselves. Her voice reminds me a lot of Nanci Griffith.

He's playing red rocks in September and I'm so upset that I can't make it.

Allman Brothers Band. You don't even have to touch their live music to love them.

The live version I fell in love with long ago.

I'll throw out a somewhat under the radar choice...
You Am I
**the only knock I could say, though it doesn't bother me, is that some of their lyrics can be too Australian..

1969-1973 townes van zandt, before his voice went
our mother the mountain
townes van zandt (self-titled)
delta momma blues
high, low, and in between
the late great townes van zandt
the nashville sessions
glad that they corralled him long enough to get it all in the can, that body of work is a national treasure and i pity anyone who listens objectively and dislikes it
