American Beauty was a solid album. Europe 72 not so much (with a couple of exceptions). "Bear's Choice" sucked.

I go

77>73>72>69/70>78>88/89/90>74/75

My buddy is begging me to meet him in chicago, we saw out first and last shows together. Not sure if im gonna go. Ive seen almost all the post jerry dead bands and enjoyed many of the shows, but i always always miss the fat man.

Honestly, im way more excited for jrad than the possibility of seeing the shows in Chicago.

Nah, 6/23/00. I didn't go the second night because I had to go to a stupid wedding.

David Bowie and Rock & Roll are the only ones I remember standing out. The rest was meh, but a lot of it was my mood that night.

Set 1: Ya Mar, My Soul, Bathtub Gin, Heavy Things, Back on the Train > David Bowie, Cars Trucks Buses, Farmhouse
Set 2: Rock and Roll > Jesus Just Left Chicago > Down with Disease[1] > Twist, Contact > Makisupa Policeman > Character Zero
Encore: Brian and Robert, Possum

you really had to have attended a Grateful Dead concert to understand

At their concert at the Fox theater in Atlanta 80's. To control that crowd they would have to have thrown a net over the whole place.
Pass the carburetor.

This one. I'll let y'all guess which one is me. I'm not in a Dead tie-dye and I don't have long hair.

It probably does. Those summer 00 Gins were all pretty good. I actually haven't ever listened to this show since that night. I just remember not being all that impressed, but I was distracted most of the show by a count gf blowing up my cell phone because I went to the show instead of some stupid dinner with her friends in town for a wedding. That had more to do with me not enjoying the show than the show itself.

Its the vibe and the culture surrounding the bands that people are drawn to. Both bands do some interesting things in improvisational settings. Both bands have excellent song writing skills, just in different ways (Phish writes interesting music, e.g., You Enjoy Myself, while the Dead writes poignant lyrics e.g. anything off Workingman's Dead or American Beauty).

That it does. Even crazier that they topped it only 5 days later on 6.28.00, which imo is the 2nd best Gin ever behind 8.17.97.

I always had a good time at Lakehood, but that Phish show was the last time I've been there.

Leaving there on a head full after a show was always interesting.

Listening to 6/23/00 now.

it's hard for me to pick a favorite. I probably like the Riverport Gin the best. There are about 4 or 5 from 99 that I love.
