I really like both bands, but Blink 182 is easily better.

But I have to admit that I'll side with a good punk/pop punk band over a band from just about any other genre.

Perhaps, but you'll do well to notice that my comment was not restricted to the songwriting perspective.
And Blink's Self-Titled album has some VERY well-constructed songs, in any case.

Grew up with both and weezers best >>>blink 182.
Actually saw weezer last week at sunfest in south Florida. They were fantastic even if the setting was uninspired. Blink played a few days later and we're pretty meh.
I'd also say the the white album and everything will be alright in the end are better than anything weezer has put out since blue album and Pinkerton.
