Id like to eventually go. Just expensive, and kinda far away. I wish the mid atlantic had a big festival. Have you ever been before though? If so, how is it?

nah not going this year,

hopefully its better now with an age restriction. Seing 16 year olds running around on molly isn't fun.

Miami Music week is much better

Its actually not that bad, the miami music week events on the other hand can get pricey. Miami night life isn't cheap.

EDC NYC, EZOO are probably your best bets of something close to VA.

Its fun, but not the best festival i've been too. And i've been to a lot.

I've been to other festivals but this will be my 1st ultra. My wife has never been to any EDM event, so I am hoping that we have a good time.

I am planning on hitting several of the local dive bars while we are there. I've been told that most of the tourist areas & big clubs are ridiculously expensive.

We are staying at the Hyatt regency downtown.

Any tips for the ultra newbie? Cool places to go in Miami? Best dive bars? Good places to eat?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Miami night life is never cheap. But you are missing out by not going to the parties at night after the festival wraps up. I went from thursday to monday.

Thursday i went to juicy beach day party which is at niki beach.

Went to a parties every night. You are selling yourself short going to a dive bar every night.

Go to the this site and book your tickets early while still cheap.

Space is awesome but expensive, Liv just forget it over the top expensive. Mansion is expensive as shite but its sound system is awesome. Most places will relax the dress code for people with pre bought tickets.

Mynt is a sick lil club but super exclusive, we got tickets for only 30 bucks and they were charging people 200 at the door.

I was just planning on hitting dive bars on the days before and after ultra. We are going the wednesday before and coming home the tuesday after the festival.

What about party favors? I assume they are all over the place at the festival?

Firefly in Delaware might be an option you want to consider. They greatly increased the amount of EDM this year (focus on the bottom lines). Also gives you a chance to listen to various genres if you need a change of pace. It appears they also have a specific DJ tent/stage this year.

Make sure y'all party on S Miami Ave in Brickell if you go. That's where most sloots hang out. Also Club LIV is the premier nightclub in Miami, fricking ridiculously expensive but awesome if you have a few people with you.

dive bars

Fritz and Frans in Coral Gables is cool
The Grove is where a lot of UM kids go if you're looking for girls

Honestly, there are just so many options.

LIV is only worth seeing once. Bunch of fake rappers and drug dealers in there. The first time I went I could have made a solid car payment with how much i spent.

Make sure to get a cab/uber to scarlett's cabaret. It's worth it...

yea but during miami music week its not even worth trying

Space is the place to be that weekend

we went on thursday for Markus Schulz open to close set

and then to the terrace on saturday for gareth emery which was insane. We went home like 6 am and went to ultra around noonish and the martinez brothers were still killing it.

Space is a legendary club.

Seth Troxler

niceeeeeeeeeeeeeee

this years line up isn't as good as past years. Stick to the Carl Cox/ASOT stage and the world wide stage

The sunday main stage is embarrassing other than Knife Party and Steve Angello.

Their marketing/social media manager went to high school with me. We used to go there all the time and get free cover thanks to her.

Any club on the beach will be amazing, especially one with a good artist performing. Blue Martini on S Miami Ave, and the other bars there, are quiter, cheaper, and (almost)just as fun if anyone is into that.
