Terry Kath....had he not died at such a young age we might have been sparred from Peter Cetera.

Also add Eva Cassidy to the list...

Most people don't die of natural causes "before their time."

Otis Redding has to be up there. The man died like 4 days after recording "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay", his only No. 1 hit. He was only like 25 and had already put out a great catalog of music. What could have come next would only have been excellent. Unlike several of the other musicians named he was on the upswing of his career.

Not really though, the band was not the same after Moon died before he got old.

Lowell George deserves a mention.

well, seems like all my choices have been already mentioned.

i know this is cheating, since he didn't actually die (not right away, anyway), but i always wonder what syd barrett could've done in his later years, if it wasn't for....well, you know.

Bradley Nowell for me..

Reason why: Sublime wast really that big until their self titled album was released after his death. HIs music still lives on today and is a great example of timeless music. He wouldve been huge if he had a few more years under his belt.

Buddy Holly is a good one too, and of course Richie Valens who was on the same plane
