I am interested though. I listen to him but not a huge fan but he's like Rob Zombie with me. I can really appreciate the work on all outlets and become intrigued by them and can grasp that it's all entertainment performance to them.

Manson is a great artist, just a little too "out there" satanic-wise.

I can see where you're coming from, but Rob and Manson are doing two entirely different things.
Rob is very much like Alice Cooper in the sense that he has an "evil" reputation, but he doesn't really say anything "evil" or even controversial. It's just an act to entertain and to make money (not that there's anything wrong with that).
Manson, on the other hand, has never been too interested in the money and his image is mainly a way of getting people interested in what he has to say. Manson's lyrics range from political issues to social issues to personal issues. His main goal has always been to get people to think and to help people get through tough times in an entertaining way.

Bump for the evening crowd.
(Translation: I spent too much damn time making this thread to let it slip into the bowels of the music board this quickly.)

A lot of his fans are this way, but I like just about everything he's done up to this point. The diversity in his music is probably what I like the most.
No, I don't think I explained myself clearly. I like everything he's done it's just that those two albums are my favorite.
I always listen to his new stuff and appreciate his music. His diversity is what keeps me tuned into what he's up to.

Billy Corgan said it best re MM: "He's the better artist, I'm the better musician"

Ah, good to hear. I'm glad I have a fellow MM fan on here.

I (and likely Manson himself) can agree with that.

I still do too and I am 55! But on a serious note I have seen him live 4 times, well, I should say 3 1/2. He was great at 3 shows..the problem with the other?? He walked out in the middle of his set, and I can't recall at the moment what happened.

Well, that's no good.
Manson tends to have a short fuse at his shows, but I've never heard of him just walking out.

(first off can't believe this board has been up for a week and I am just seeing it...)
Secondly haven't read a word of the thread yet.
But Marilyn Manson's Book is a must read.
Secondly this cover of the Mash theme song makes it very depressing, but very cool none the less.
Suicide is Painless- Marilyn Manson

Bump, Spotify released four songs from the new album. For some unknown reason, they're not available on Spotify in the U.S. However, you can listen to them here (a stream from Russia's Spotify): LINK
Thoughts on the songs? I only listened to "Slo-Mo-Tion" because I want to enjoy the full album without much spoiled. I recommend that you at least give that song a try.
ETA: The quality of this stream is not that great, but it's all we have right now.

Still has that very industrial sound with hard driving chorus glad he didn't stray away from what makes his music good.

The real question is this:
Is Manson the most IMPORTANT artist of our time?

In my opinion, absolutely. However, I'm sure most will disagree.

I remember some his stuff when I was younger. shite was too eccentric for me. Wasn't one of his biggest singles a cover song? I guess the same thing can be said about Zeppelin. Oh well.

Give one of the new songs a try, I'd love to hear what you think of them.

Will do
just listened to No Reflection. Not really up my alley, but I can respect it. Better than 90% of popular music these days.
