Better than a personal hygiene problem eh?
They were playing Oak Mtn again right after the frat show in AU. I want to say it was 94 but I am not sure. I respek Phish talents and like some of the music being a bass player myself but the crowd and scene are not to my likings.

Oak Mountain '99 was a great show (that Sally in the first set is particularly funky)
I'm not a huge phish fan but I actually have that show on my ipod and listen to it on occasion. Not bad. At. ALL.

Lol, ive seen phish 50 times. Enough to form an opinon and not be "ignorant." ive never said he wasnt talented, hes an amazing guitarist. Not top ten of all time though. Just for reference, rolling stone's top 100 guitarists(voted on by a panel of guitarists) had trey at 73.

Phish got worse. I stopped going after the first retirement, and theyve done nothing to change my opinion. Nye run was awful this year. Yall claim they are "on" this summer, cool.

True, but Denver and Chicago preceding it were fan-fricking-tastic.
You just sound like a bitter, jaded vet.

The whole Trey being a top 15 guitarist brought the lulz

Derek Trucks is the only modern guitarist that may be of equal to Ernest Anastasio III

Kind of, from the jump i wasnt a fan in the mid 90s. Too much trey and nothing else imo. I got dragged to shows in 95/96 by an ex and hated it. In 97 the band changed, it was more groove orientated and less trey bustin his nut on stage. It was just never the same to me after the first hiatus.

I don't think he's top 10 of all time, i think he definitely qualifies for top 15 alive though.
I enjoy what they do, jam music is interesting to me because it shows how talented they really are. Just because they bring a buncha "drug heads" to their shows isn't a reason to hate on their music.

I'm not quite sure how thats arguable.

Well, I've seen them one time for about 30-40 minutes before boredom set in and my leg fell asleep. Trey can play scales pretty well, I must say.
Christalmighty, 99% of jam bands are just bloody awful. I mean god awful. If I could go back and gather up the tons of dope I smoked in the day it still wouldn't be enough to make me a fan.

I have a very different taste in music. I listen to everything from Porter Wagoner to NWA to FEAR to every imaginable genre of music. FTR I have been to a Phish show and it sucked. I have also seen the Greatful Dead and I personally celebrate the death of Jerry Garcia every year.
Damn...... But I find it very humorous. I too think Phish is boring.

Yes, mutemath actually write good songs. And they are a better band musically than phish.
I just don't care for jam bands. Bunch of wanking/noodling and not enough rock and roll for me.

linkin park that's for damn sure.
Show me where I said I was a linkin park fan
I don't care for them at all. That thread was merely stating how the incubus/linkin park/mutemath tour was going to be huge.
