Bought the MP3 album from Amazon.
Fell in love with 'em the minute a bud turned me on to them a couple years ago, right before I found this topic. Bought Psychedolonaut and haven't looked back.

High on Fire new release out today. It is on Spotify

Matt Pike has become a punchline again. In the weeks leading up to the release of High on Fire’s masterful seventh album, Luminiferous, listeners began to notice that the singer’s long-latent suspicions and esoteric interests had morphed at last into legitimate conspiracy theories. During "The Black Plot", the album’s exuberant opener and first tease, Pike grunts about the need to hide your mind because of nearby aliens and relents to the damage an evil global scheme has already caused. During subsequent browbeater "The Sunless Years", Pike growls about dropping acid, spotting satellites, and huffing chemtrails. "Someone please tell them," he shouts mid-verse, "this is our fricking lives." When Rolling Stone asked Pike about those ideas, he reinforced them rather than recant: a book by noted snake oil salesman David Icke had opened his eyes. 9/11 was an inside job. And the aliens built both the ziggurats and pyramids. “Dude, I say a lot of fricked-up shite!” Pike admitted. As it does, the metal Internet laughed online.

I haven't posted in this thread yet because frankly, all the good stoner/doom metal I've known of previously has already been mentioned. I have followed it each time it's been bumped and have checked out some damn good bands I had not heard of before because of it. I think a good way to put it would be that it's a thread with maybe a smallish but loyal following, kinda like the very dedicated fans you'll find at a Clutch show. But then I guess Clutch is quite underrated aren't they?
And since I am finally posting in this thread, let me just say...

Another simply outstanding recommendation. I cannot get over how so many of the bands you mention are love at first listen. Every single song is righteous on this one.
I sincerely hope the people that like these bands as much as I do are buying the albums and not just stealing them. Supporting these acts with our wallets is the most important thing we can do as fans of this style of music. MP3 albums are fricking cheap. There's no excuse for not purchasing them if you plan on listening to them on a regular basis.

I'd take it even further.

Rumor is a Crowbar/COC (Pepper) tour this fall.

They are both booked for Housecore Fest in November so hopefully we'll get a New Orleans date around that time. I saw them together ten years with Alabama Thunderpussy and Suplecs.

Me too!! Saw that exact same lineup here in Jax Beach. In fact for me it was almost exactly ten years ago. Father's Day 2005. Told the wife all I really wanted to be able to do for Father's Day was go to the show with my bud.

What is the likelihood of this happening? I'm considering catching Crowbar at the Varsity for July 3 but I would much prefer a potential Crowbar/Corrosion of Conformity Concert in New Orleans.

I'd say 90%. A friend of mine talks to Buckley from Crowbar pretty regularly and he mentioned it.
I'd say still go to the Varsity show if you can. If nothing else, to show support for the band and the BR scene.

Right on, Man. Considering that Battlecross and Lord Dying are playing too, I figure it will be a pretty decent show for a good price.
It's not often that an established metal band ventures to Baton Rouge these days.

Exactly. I'd rather not have to make the runs to Shreveport, Houston or NOLA if I can help it.
