I'd give you all of my dreams
If you could help me find a door
That doesn't lead me back again
Take me away

And I got fading roots...

"Far away across the fields, the tolling of the iron bell, calls the faithful to their knees, hear the softly spoken magic spell"

"Outside in the cold distance, a wildcat did growl, two riders were approaching, and the wind began to howl"

"I've hawked all my yesterday's, don't try and change my tune, 'cause I thought I heard a saxophone, I'm drunk on the moon"

these beatles, dylan, floyd, and zeppelin closing lines are drastically different than the beatles, dylan, floyd, and zeppelin opening lines in the other thread

"I can't wait, till I get home, to pass the time in my room alone"

"I will be home in a while
You don't Have to say a word
I can't wait to see you smile
Wouldn't miss it for the world"

"We were told, just to sit tight
Cause somebody, would soon arrive
Help is On the way
But it never came"

Well now you heard another side to the story
But you wanna know how it ends?
If you must know, the truth about the tale
Go and ask the milkman

This old porch is just a long time
Of waiting and forgetting
And remembering the coming back
And not crying about the leaving
And remembering the falling down
And the laughter of the curse of luck
From all of those sons-of-bitches
Who said we'd never get back up

The pump don't work 'cause the vandals took the handle.

Excuse me while I kiss the sky .

Feelin' good was good enough for me, good enough for me and my Bobby Mcgee.

Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall, I'd love to turn you on.

Pleased to meet you, won't you guess my name, but what's puzzling you is just the nature of my game.

Feed your head, feed your head.

The answer is blown' in the wind.

We'll get together then, Dad. You know we'll have a good time then.

And the sign said the words of the prophet are written on the subway walls and tenement halls that whisper the sounds of silence.

And no one's getting fat except Mama Cass.

Mama tried.

Blind Melon - Change

And as we all play parts of tomorrow,
some ways will work and other ways we'll play.
But I know we all can't stay here forever,
so I want to write my words on the face of today.
and then they'll paint it

And oh as I fade away,
they'll all look at me and they'll say,
Hey look at him and where he is these days.
When life is hard, you have to change.

I read the news today oh boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall
I'd love to turn you on

You could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

Childhoods End -Pink Floyd

Who are you and who am I
To say we know the reason why?
Some are born; some men die
Beneath one infinite sky.
There'll be war, there'll be peace.
But everything one day will cease.
All the iron turned to rust;
All the proud men turned to dust.
And so all things, time will mend.
So this song will end.

Anyone can see,
Nothing really matters
Nothing really matters, to me.

Tom Ames' prayer is a great song.

A couple come to mind:

Yesterday When I Was Young ~ Roy Clark

"There are so many songs
In me that won't be sung.
I feel the bitter taste
Of tears upon my tongue.
The time has come for me to pay
For yesterday when I was young"

10 Degrees and Getting Colder ~ Gordon Lightfoot

"Wont you listen to me brother
If you ever loved your mother
Please pull off on the shoulder
If you're goin' milwaukee way
Its ten degrees and getting colder
Down by boulder dam today"

Mountains of Morne ~ Irish Standard
"But with all his great power he's wishful, like me
to be back where the dark morne sweeps down to the sea"

I know some day you'll have a beautiful life
I know you'll be a star
In somebody else's sky but why, why

Can't it me mine.

After ten long years they let him out of the home
Excitable boy, they all said
And he dug up her grave and built a cage with her bones
Excitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an excitable boy
