Tame Impala

I didn't think they were anything special until I saw them at the Civic last year. Phenomenal show.

Spinoff: Bands disliked after seeing them

RHCP

I know they don't have their original lineup but I regret going to that concert every time I think about it. Christ, that was awful. Such a shame what they have become.

Wilco - I still don't really like their studio stuff, but the 2 times I've seen them live were both incredible.

I hated Widespread Panic and Phish until I saw them live.

That's a good one. I still can't really get into their studio stuff but they were great at Lockn a couple years ago.

From way back in the day. Two really good concerts from bands I had no particular love for.

Journey
The Cars

Nearly all of them but to name a few...

John Butler Trio - didn't know much about them beforehand but I was blown away after seeing them live.

Wilco - same sorta deal. I knew a little about them but after I saw them at JF several years ago, I became a fan.

String Cheese Incident - any jam band is going to be better in their native habitat. Also most jam bands don't make very good studio albums. Their live performances are special.

Steely Dan - been a big SD fan forever but gained a lot of respect for them once I found out how good they sound in person.

easily, Rocket From the Crypt.. always a big fan, but the first time I saw them live they blew me away...

they don't really tour anymore, but I catch them any time I can over the past 25 years...

saw them twice in one weekend last month

I saw Wilco in Pritzker Park (Chicago) last Sunday in Chicago... They were incredible, as per usual... I have been a fan since the beginning, but my interest in their recorded material has dropped off the past few albums... however, they always deliver live! And Wilco 2.0 >>> Wilco 1.0 live...
