Legendary rock & roll keyboardist Ian McLagan died today. Oddly, on the same day as Keys - another guy that jammed with the Stones. If you don't know him by name, you'd probably recognize this part

I loved The Faces. I remember seeing McLagan on the Riverboat President when he was in Bonnie Raitt's band with Johnny Lee Schell. Great show that night.

Also the New Barbarians in Houston. Another great show.

Age and death catches up to all of 'em.

RIP.

The most underrated Faces song.

I was really hoping that next year would bring a Faces reunion with Rod, Ronnie, Ian, and Kenney. If Rod would've allowed himself in years before, we could've had it.

The Small Faces were one of the greatest bands of the British Invasion, woefully underappreciated in the US. And the Faces were a great band too for a few years, before Rod Rodded out.

I never met Ian McLagen, but I know some people who knew him in Austin, and they all say he was a very nice guy

Steve Marriott
Ronnie Lane
and now Ian

Well put... and Ive heard the same from friends in Austin about Ian..

On the two aforementioned bands, Steve and Rod got the headlines, but Ronnie was the soul of both of those bands! His records One for the Road and RL's Slim Chance are must haves..
