Rate the following studio albums by Bob Seger in order of personal preference:

1) Night Moves
2) Stranger in Town
3) Against The Wind
4) The Distance
5) Like A Rock
6) The Fire Inside
7) It's A Mystery

I have them as such: 3, 1, 2, 4, 6, 5, 7 (3 is my favorite, 7 my least favorite).

My experience with Seger is that if you have one Segar album you have them all. Great voice, great songs, but they all sound the same. Would rather hear someone cover alot of his library. Thin Lizzy did a great "Rosalie".

Live Bullet. That is the one Seger album I own. Really good.

During Silver Bullets heyday, they were amazingly good live.

That was called "9 Tonight". It was a "greatest hits" compilation from two different live concerts in Boston. I think one was in 1979 and the other about a year later.

Why did you exclude Beautiful Loser? That's easily one of his top-three albums.

Night Moves
Against The Wind
Stranger in Town

Don't care enough about those others. Would add Beautiful Loser, as someone mentioned.

Live Bullet ('76) has the version of Turn The Page that AOR stations play all the time.

Nine Tonight (1981) was also live but not nearly as good, in my opinion. I was a big fan at the time, but I don't think I bought another Seger album after this one disappointed.

I remember some kid saying that there was another album called Seven, and there is. I never saw it in any of our record outlets. It's like they buried it.

Probably. They want $27 for the CD on Amazon, and Bob is a holdout on Spotify and streaming, so the rest of us will have to wait a while.

Though I do see that his old stuff is on youtube (for the moment anyway).
