Very enjoyable show at the Varsity. I was up front but looking back turn out seemed a little weak.

When did Carl start playing Rickenbacker? With a pick?

Yea, turnout was definitely a little weak compared to the NMO they did a year ago. LSU being on spring break doesn't help.

But man, what an awesome rocker of a show that was. McFadden and Eisenberg were great. The Five Bullets opener really set the tone.

I tell you what, Dying Days is a nice little tune, and I love the seg into down by the river. I got piss drunk last night, but thought it was a really good show. Yes, the turn out was light as well, but what can you do.

If y'all have the chance to see him this tour, do it.

He rocked Saturday night in Austin.

He did play "Charlie Parker," and he did an awesome cover of "Friend of the Devil" as the closer with the opening act playing alongside him (Sister Sparrows and the Dirty Birds).

All things considered, I give it two thumbs up.

Damn, wish we would have gotten a closer like that here at the BR show. Don't get me wrong, the show here was great, just was hoping that SS and the horns would have joined AOB on stage at some point.

They played at least three songs with Anders -- full SS and DB for the "Friend of the Devil" closer, and then x2 horns on an earlier song + a harmonica player blowing down on another. I wish could tell you the setlist, but I'd be lying if I said I knew all the songs.

The final three or so songs, though, were incredible. It was "Got Your Heart" > "Charlie Parker" > Friend of the Devil, if I remember correctly (there might have been another song mixed in there...)

Horns make everything better. And Arleigh has some pipes. She can sing.

Blah. I got tied up at work and didn't make it to the venue until their final two or so songs. The bit I heard, though, was solid. They're on Spotify, so I've been listening to them today at work and am digging it.
