Titled Spacedust and Ocean views. Listened to it a few times, and not really enjoying it. Its different from his other albums - quieter for the most part. Anyone else listen to it yet?

It's way mellow for sure. My favorite songs are Lafayette, Wind, Move Back to Mississippi and Big Talk. But I'm still excited to see him Thursday.

What I've heard on Spotify so far I liked.

Read an interview with him the other day in one of the local papers. He stated that has been reading a ton of self exploration books lately. You can def see where that influenced a lot of the songwriting on this release. Will be interesting to hear him Wed at The Square and see what this has don to his live shows.

Great songs, not a fan of the presentation. These songs cook hard live but are way too mellow and laid back on the album imo.

Ready for back to back nights in nola and br.

I got tickets to see him this weekend in ATX, and after listening to that album, all I can say is I hope he doesn't play too much of it or he translates it to a live show in a far different manner than presented on the album.

I listened twice through and none of the songs jumped out at me. It's slooooow.

Hes played most of the new songs fairly regularly this tour and they sound nothing like the album. Lafayette, wind and back to Mississippi are some of my favorite songs to see live.

thanks for that -- it was gonna be a hard sell for my girlfriend, who hasn't been keen on my concerts since I got tickets to two nights of Wilco She thought it was "boring."

Is he still playing the older stuff on tour though? Cause that's a "must hear" song for me.

An Anders show without Charlie Parker? Is there even such a thing?

FYI - tonight, his concert at Lafayette Square in N.O. is being broadcasted live on WWOZ. Can stream it at wwoz.org.

A friend was at his show in New Orleans last night and said it was awesome.

Though I'd love to hear Charlie Parker, I'd really be alright without it as long as some of the other older stuff is mixed into the setlist too. My main concern was that this show I'm going to is gonna be slow, but the comments here are reassuring.

Last night was awesome. Anders always has and always will play slow songs in his set, but they are more change of tempo stuff. He pretty rocks 90% of the time. Heres last night setlist:

Pleasing you
Lafayette
Kings and peasants
Sara anne
Ponchatrain
Fools gold
Louisiana gold (Ao- acoustic, em- mandolin)
Dyin days
Down by the river
Back on dumaine

E: Mississippi
