I think Eric Clapton is an overrated musician. Phenomenal songwriter and pretty decent/avg blues player

One of the dumbest things I have ever read on MB. Has to be a troll right? Have you heard him play the guitar?

"U2"

I don't know that they are all that highly rated in so far as being an all time great though. A lot of their 80s albums were great and The Joshua Tree is one of the great albums of the decade.

"David Bowie"

I never "got" the whole Ziggy Stardust thing he had going in the 70s. I thought that part of his career was highly overrated. I'd have to disagree overall though. He had some really good stuff overall though.

P.S. whoever said Eric Clapton is overrated has lost their mind.

I'm not trying to start a fight, but we've had this argument before on this board. Only asking because Marvin Gaye and Cher were listed here ....

It's a matter of semantics really. I guess in the strictest sense they would be vocalists but technically they do make music with their voices.

And as for Bowie, the only 2 songs I ever enjoyed were Space Oddity and Panic in Detroit.

Yeah, compared to the Ruffins, Stubbs, Robinsons, etc. , he just doesn't stack up. Again, this is an opinion-oriented board and everybody like what day like.

I don't get these guys either bro. In fact, you can throw Bob Dylan in there too.
