Music has been better with Foo Fighters than without. You haven't noticed rock dying enough already , & purging FF seems like a good idea to you?

Plus, he gets extra credit for rocking the hell outta those drums, Dale in Nirvana

The Eagles are much more bland than FF in my opinion.

How do you figure? I didn't disagree with anything you said, just pointed out that he isn't being proclaimed as the next Jimi Hendrix.

If Foo Fighters are playing in a bar/tailgate/party etc. and half the crowd is having a great time and the other half is not, I'm going to get along better with the people that are enjoying it.

Not all music needs to be edgy, creative and "interesting" to be good. Sometimes, just entertaining is OK, like drinking Bud Light on a hot summer day.

As for the original question, Mumford and Sons is more generic, non-threatening, (and kinda boring) than Foo Fighters. (and I'm a fan, going to the show at Zephyr).

Thank God we all have different tastes.

Way more.

And this thread is just dumb. Sterile? Generic? What the frick? Most music is worse than anything Foo Fighters have done. We could create a bad-music board just for it.

How many really good bands out there claim to be heavily influenced by Foo Fighters? Just curious.

When I read this thread earlier this morning I did not expect to see this many people supporting the Foo Fighters. Honestly thought they were just a running joke like Nickelback or The Disco Biscuits.

I don't know how to apply sterile or generic to music.

I think Dave still has some creativity in him, he just saves it for side projects. Foo Fighters is his meal ticket, he doesn't want to mess that up.

I can get why people might not like the Foo Fighters, but there is much, much worse bullshite out there for us to be wasting time focusing on Dave Grohl and company.
