Meh. I'm sure there are world class food connoisseurs out there somewhere who sometimes like to slum it with the common folk and grab burger king every once in a while. EVeryone has thier own little guilty pleasures here adn there.

There you have it. You don't like good music.

Not surprised to see you don't care that you're a douche.

Look, I have exactly zero Foo songs on my phone. I've never even bought a CD. They are not "my" band. They do have some good music and are superior to Nirvana who I have paid for. If you don't like Everlong, especially the live skin/bones version, you simply shouldn't comment on the band at all. You don't get it, and don't have to.

I find hipster music to be generic and unimaginative. I find it retarded to say people don't have good taste in music when they don't like what you like. Music is personal, I like Bach, I like Pink Floyd, I like the Foo Fighters, I like George Strait, I like a few songs from Nickleback. I like what I like and don't give a shite who cares.

Define "hipster music".

Dude you nailed it. This is the most accurate and ingenious description of FF I have ever seen. Bravo

I don't think he has ever proclaimed himself to be pushing the envelope with the Foo Fighters--at least not in the past decade. He's always just wanted to make loud, guitar driven rock and roll. Who gives a shite what you think?

Dave Grohl is very talented. I enjoyed a lot of FF early stuff, probably up until There's Nothing Left to Lose. They grew stale to me after that. Some singles that they released were ok but I can't listen to a whole FF album after TNLTL and not get bored.

That being said... that's just my opinion.

It's time people started standing up and saying no more Wal-Mart rock. No more generic, forgettable slog. No more riding the coattails of musicians with actual talent.

What people are you expecting to do this? When has this ever happened? There will always be generic music out there, and last time I checked, nobody forces you to listen to it. So I don't see the problem. I don't listen to FF's new stuff, and don't care if they continue to make music.

Absolutely. Nirvana has one great song and a bunch of mediocre ones. Hell, everytime a thread comes up, covers are like 3 of the top 5

It's good, and you don't like it, ergo...

Foo Fighters music is practically a cliche at this point, but let's take a look at how something becomes a cliche in the first place. Something has to be so widely popular, imitated, propogated, ect to be a cliche. It's like saying, "oh, you're eating a fried turkey and oyster dressing for thanksgiving? What a cliche." You know why it's a cliche? Because it's so damn amazing that it's become a standard.

Foo Fighters is only bland and generic because they have been so imitated, so influential, and so popular that what was once a novel concept is now so endemic in our culture, so deep rooted in our musical landscape, that it's practically a cliche.
