From Monument to Masses

I'm sure I'll think of more in a bit now that I'm thinking about it. I'm glad you posted this, though, because I had almost forgotten about From Monument to Masses. They were great.

The same three that came to mind for me as well. I'm not good with genres so I don't really know what post rock means but I really like these three bands. Russian Circles being my favorite out of the three.

It's really just droning, delay-heavy instrumental rock. There are some post-rock bands with vocals like Mogwai and Sigur Ros, but they are not the norm.

Hell, I just looked at the wikipedia list of post-rock bands and there are some odd inclusions: Mutemath, The Appleseed Cast.

That list did point out a huge one that I didn't see yet: Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

Unwound. While not an instrumental band, they certainly fit in the post-rock category.
