This Modern Eagle crossed my repair bench a couple months ago just for a fresh set-up and TLC. Scoff all you want about the price they command, but it was without a doubt among the finest electric guitars I've been around in my life. Wood selection and craftsmanship, tones on command and feel under the hands and resonating against your ribs, man, it had it all.
You know how you hear all the hoo-haa about Brazilian rosewood fingerboards? How about a Brazilian rosewood NECK. Yep, the whole thing.
There was absolutely no weak link on this guitar. Everything was at least stellar if not off the charts good. Even the feel of the truss rod's movement inside the neck was bulletproof precision. Yep, even the stuff you don't see is just badass haha.

That's more than a guitar, it's a work of art! Thanks for sharing

I see a screw cover is missing on a tuner.
Overrated garbage. Would not buy.

What kind of wood is that neck made of?

On the missing tuner gear cap ... the guitar is its owner's daily player and the guitar has the wear and tear to show it. Worth noting is its owner has an extensive investment-grade collection of American/vintage/high end instruments, I mean EXTENSIVE collection, and while the lion's share of his guitars are cased in a vault, this is the one that sits on a stand in his den and gets played daily. If it was mine, I'd do the same thing haha.

That's insane, wonder what it cost? Is there a hand written sig by Paul in it?

Wondering this now, too. Was it a private stock PRS?

Kinda like Private Stock in that they are very elite, very limited and very, very expensive. The guitar above is a Modern Eagle I and the only ME series on which they used Brazilian necks from what I see online. Subsequent ME series (there appears to have been four series) used rosewood necks, but not Brazilian.
The guitar above's owner knows a lot more about the PRS market new/used/vintage than I do and he made the passing remark in my shop that $4K or less on a used ME I is pretty much a steal. The cheapest ME on Reverb right now is $4K and it is not a Brazilian ME I. The most expensive ME listed is over $11K. It has a solid ebony neck, ebony fingerboard and some pretty tricked out inlay work.
