Some of the best guitars being made, especially if you get into the private stock.

My brother just put in an order for a Mark Holcomb SE signature. Comes in March 10th. Friggen stoked about it. Only PRS I have fooled around with was a custom 22 and it was ridiculously comfortable (I don't play guitar well at all though). I would get it if I were you.

The SE models are about the highest quality guitars you can get for the money.

I've played the SE a few times... it's fantastic... just feels right in my hands

It's a great guitar, no doubt about it

Do you specifically want a 24 fret guitar? I can't stand them.

I have a Singlecut from around 2002. I've played several Custom 24, Custom 22 and McCarty models. The 25" scale, which is what most of their guitars have, has an in-between Gibson and Fender type of tone that I find musical. I haven't played any of the 24.5" scale models, but I'm sure they're good.

One thing I like about PRS is in the Maryland factory they spend 30 days just working on the neck. Every guitar I've ever picked up of theirs feels solid.

Trying to decide myself. pretty much everyone that I have talked to or watched videos of playing say that they play really easy and really fast.

For the American built out of American stock guitars: As someone mentioned above they spend about 30 days to build each neck. They shape and then let the wood settle and dry more, shape a lil more then let settle and dry more, rinse and repeat until the neck is ready. PRS guitars are very well known for staying in tune.

This is a pretty good watch

PRS Factory Tour - Part 1 of 4

Don't know if i want to spend the money on a full Custom or go for one of the cheaper models:

Custom 22 or 24: $3000.00 - UP
CE (Bolt on neck) Custom 22 or 24: $1800.00 - $2000.00
S2 (American built out of Korean Parts): Around $1500.00
SE (Korean built): $700.00-$800.00

What I would love to have is the McCarty 594 Single Cut:

They range anywhere from $3200.00-$4000.00 for regular woods, $4200.00-$5000.00 for a 10 top, all the way up to $10,000.00 - $12000.00 for a Private Stock.

This guitar pictured is $4200.00

I considered both, the 24 is what PRS was originally known for, seems best for me

even the SEs, are shipped from Korea back to Maryland, where they inspect and set up every one before shipping out

That's awesome! Paul actually gives a damn about everything he puts his name on.

They are really anal about their guitars. They will not send shitty product out of their factory, like how people will spend a few grand on a Les Paul and there be over-spray of the finish onto the binding and shite like that.

You are much less likely to spend money on a PRS and have to then go pay more money for a luthier to set the thing up properly like a Les Paul or a Strat.

PRS will even chop up and trash Private stock guitars that would have cost 10 grand or more if they are not perfect and the imperfection cannot be fixed instead of just knocking the price down to try and make some money off of them.

With all the good shite I have read and seen about them minus the LP / Strat purists and the people that try to shite on them because they can't afford one, I can't wait to get home from overseas next week and actually go play one. Thing is, I know that will definitely lead to buying one...LOL

when I think of PRS, I think of creed and die a little on the inside.

if you're going to spend that kind of money, get a rickenbacker guitar.

Rickenbacker is good, but a different sound, and a lot more than I am spending, PRS is also Santanna and a lot of top players

Black Rickenbackers make me think of Susanna Hoffs.
