Montgomery Gentry disappeared.... not that it bothers me, but they seemed to be just the type of low talent trash that would thrive in today's country scene.

Did the Chris Gaines thing first, then came back as Garth, then retired.

Doug Supernaw had two of the best albums of the 90s but was an alcoholic. Then he got in a wreck and got hooked in pain pills, got in a fight with a cop, sent to jail, then became a psycho. I think he's in a psych ward of a prison somewhere now.

It's a shame because he was great.

I wish Garth Brooks would tour a little more.

Saw him during his 10 night benefit show for Nashville a few years ago. Guy played for like 5 hours.

Read an article recently that said Garth would come back and tour when his oldest daughter got to college. I believe she is a junior in high school at the time. Had the opportunity to go see him when he did the shows in KC a while back. I was to young at the time to understand what I was missing out on.

Supernaw was recently living at my buddies house in Lake Charles. He's pretty damn out there. Was homeless in LC and would play at the Huddle Up Bar. Told all kinds of stories. Said his ex-wife took damn near everything he owns. Can't find any of his music online b/c of the legal rights to his songs apparently go to her. Son plays for the Texans, but doesn't want anything to do with him. Pretty sad, b/c I loved some Doug Supernaw. He's got video of him playing Reno acoustically in his living room!

Well damn

I think he's out now, but here's the quote from wiki that probably needs updating:

quote:

Supernaw was committed to a mental institution on July 2, 2007 per a ruling by a Brazos County, TX judge, after making bizarre statements in court, including claims of a "political economic conspiracy" against him, international kidnapping, being used as a marijuana "test monkey" by the government, and other wild accusations.[4][5]

There was at least a decade of my life I would've killed for that gig.

Well done on the Hank joke.

I miss what Lyle & K.D. brought to the table, also Radney. I know they're all quite alive and well, but their influence is a faint echo on Nashville these days.
