Rodie for the Allman Bros. band said "The two places to play in the whole United States were the Filmore East in New York and The Warehouse in New Orleans". I've never been, but heard any stories bout it.

For those interested

The Allman Brothers Museum (in the "Big House" in Macon, GA) is endorsed by the band, so it is overflowing with memorabilia (and stories). Prominently displayed in the first room (where Government Mule was founded), behind glass is this shirt. They obviously were proud to have played there.

Sorry, didn't know how to reduce the image. Hell, I'm lucky I knew how to post an image.

Two questions:

Would it work today?
Who would play if it were to happen?
