Cell phone recording at concerts

This is one of my biggest pet peeves at concerts and I'm just wondering if anyone else feels similarly. I can't stand being behind a sea of people holding up there dumbass cell phones recording something that they are witnessing in person already. Your eyes are better than your fricking camera, why don't you just watch the damn show how it is supposed to be watched instead of recording the entire thing to watch later (even though you won't ever watch it again)?
Am I being overly critical?

Nahh. Pictures are alright but videos are dumb, especially if you're close to the stage. The sound becomes distorted and it's really not worth watching at all later.

no. cellphone rudeness during concerts is one of the worst things to happen for concerts in the last 10-15 years.
its fricking stupid. either enjoy the show or go watch a recording on your tv at home.
put the cell phone down. none of your friends gives a shite that you're about to brag on instagram that you're at a stupid concert.

It's the main reason I hardly ever go to shows anymore.

I'm still a zippo man myself. Old school, ya dig?

I mean, a quick video of a good song is one thing. The holding of the cell phone in the air for the entire show drives me up the wall. Glad I'm not alone.

Anyone else been to a show where the lead singer called out someone who was on their phone? Preferably in front of the stage.

Chris Robinson publicly ABUSED a dude at lauberge casino for filming him damn near an hour. That guy had to have thought about tucking arse and leaving after the reaming he received.

Doesn't really bother me. People having in-depth conversations bothers me much more.

Girls screaming during songs/solos bothers the frick out of me more than conversation.
Cell phones > Girls Screaming > Conversation

Jack White bitches about it on stage all the time. Although he can be a bit of a drama queen(and I'm a big fan of him as a musician), he's opposed to anything that kills the energy of a live performance.
I have to agree that if you are thinking about your instagram feed instead of enjoying the show, you're doing it wrong.

I don't do it. I actually like to enjoy the show.

You are right, those people are dicks.
Look, you want to take one photo just to put on facebook to say you were there? Fine. Do it during the 1st or 2nd song. Take one photo, put your phone away, and we'll all pretend it didn't happen. But if you try to record the show on video for any period of time... you are an a-hole. It should be socially acceptable for the other concertgoers to grab you by the neck, take you outside, and beat the crap out of you. It's not, nor is it legal, but it SHOULD BE.

This doesn't happen at the shows I like. Phone would be lost dropped and broken

I snapped a couple of quick pics between songs at the Gwar show last night of the costumes and props - who wouldn't want a picture of a jizz squirting Orc riding a mutant snail?

The other thing I don't get is that there's obviously going to be the same video on YouTube by somebody who has a better quality camera and sound capture when you get home... so why do you have to do it?

disrespectful to the artist imo.
