If you didn't record and post it, it never happened.

It's so lame. I would never go home and watch a concert (that I was at!) on my phone.
And then I'm sure they blast it all over social media and think everyone else should give a shite about what they did. Losers.

Snapping a picture or two (without flash) doesn't bother me, but videotaping a whole song is just annoying.
Alex Rawls wrote an article about this in The Advocate a few weeks ago:
"Answering questions about new trend: Why do concert-goers record with their phones? How does it affect musicians?"

Witnessed quite possibly the dumbest thing ever at a Depeche Mode show in Houston back in 2013. Idiot didn't just pull out her phone and record songs, she actually recorded the video image from the giant screens on the side of the stage as the song was being performed live not even 50ft away.
Nope. I love my freedom but I would be OK with banning all recording devices from concerts

Anyone else been to a show where the lead singer called out someone who was on their phone
Yes. Last week. Soul Coughing's Mike Doughty*, playing a "Living Room Concert" in a house for a tiny group of hyper-fans. He got on a person for fiddling with a phone while he was playing. Only problem was that she -- and the rest of us -- was only maybe 5' away from him. Worse was that she was the host who owned the house.
Awkward.
*Doughty's family is from Tullos, LA, home of "Major Doughty Road".

I don't do it, but it doesn't bother me.
I do, however, use cell videos posted to YouTube to see if the artist is still good or good live.
It hasn't steered me wrong yet.

I hate talkers more.
Ive been to hundreds and hundreds of shows, and i dont remember a lot of them.
I take a few videos now to remember the show.
I wish i had a small 30 second video of every show ive seen.
