Going to see him tomorrow night. My favorites are "A Matter of Trust" and "The Longest Time" but I celebrate his entire catalog. What are your favorite BJ songs?

Back in the day....late 70's through early 80's....there was no one better as a singer/songwriter. First several albums were excellent (Piano Man, Stranger, 52nd Street, Glass Houses) and were staples for my young folks at that time.

My personal favorite, among many of these records, is "Songs in The Attic" (1980) which was a collection of songs from his lesser known early albums and contains some really good live performances that breathe life into those songs. I like the whole album, but there is a sentimental song called "You're My Home" that is fully reflective of his skills as a singer/songwriter.

Enjoy the show.

The live versions of Miami 2017, Captain Jack and Say Goodbye to Hollywood from this album are the best songs he ever recorded, IMHO.

Miami 2017 with no question.

I can listen to Scenes, Piano Man, Allentown, but I turn the channel when most of his come on Sirius.

He is great, but I can hardly think of an artist whose songs were burned out of us by overplay.

My first exposure to Billy Joel was an 8 track of glass houses my neighbor gave me after buying my first car which came with an 8 track player.

I listened to that probably 4 million times so all those songs have a special place in my heart.

In my area of the country there is a weekly Joel vs Springsteen debate.

I don't know what that means.

I was exaggerating a bit. He wrote more than just 2 good songs. He just never really did much for me. Saw him and Elton John in concert when they toured together in 94 or 95. Elton was exponentially better, though Billy was pretty good as well.

i took piano and even though the beginning of this song is mostly just 3 notes, its the hardest thing i ever tried to play on the piano.

i remember when BJ played lakefront arean in NOLA in like 1988 he psyched himself up for a few minutes before attacking the keyboard.

Its never made any sense to me why Anthony Bourdain claims to hate Billy Joel when his brother is his saxophonist.
