For a tight, small concert setting, HOB in Nola used to be great… haven’t been there for a show in many years, so I’m not sure what it’s like now.

I really like the Tabernacle in Atlanta in the balcony or on the floor.

Worst one was a hay field for first police picnic in 81 .... ya I'm old, in 90+ heat and no security so a bunch of ppl jumped fences. Show was great but police didn't get on stage until 11. Lots of great bands iggy pop specials gogos payolas oingo boingo but shitty organization

HOB NOLA used to be the dream when I was young. As an adult, having loaded in shows there and seen it with the lights on, it’s held together with glue and an electrical fire waiting to happen.

I love most of the revitalized theaters in NOLA. Not sure how functional they are behind the scenes, but they are beautiful and sound decent.

Blueberry Hill, St. Louis

Imagine seeing Chuck Berry in a room the size of a double wide shot gun bar. 300 people max.

Even at 80 years old he put on a helluvan entertaining show.

Secondary mention goes to the old Westport Playhouse in the St. Louis suburbs, a 1000 seat theater in the round with a revolving stage. The worst seat in the house was probably 20 rows away. I saw Three Dog Night there twice and Cory Wells was incredible. Such a talented singer.

Oof, that place is a beat down. Give me Grenada over Bomb Factory or any of those other big warehouse spaces.

Auditorium North Hall (technically the Dixon Meyers Hall I think) in Memphis; it's gone now but it was made for music and would hold 5-7K.
