Any word on what caused Chris Stapleton to cancel all of his June Tour dates?

Anyone have any ideas?

Torn tendon in his index finger and broken bone. Doesn't want to give a halfass show till he can play guitar again

They announce timeline on his return? Seeing him and Tom Petty June 29th in Chicago. He was one of the reasons I chose to go to this show.

Never seen him live. Just asking. Don't get all pissy, people. Is he just that guy who is too nervous to sing without a guitar? Not know what to do with himself or his hands on stage just singing?

sounds like he has an inflated view of his own importance.

I think it's ridiculous that he canceled shows because of a hand injury. it's not like his voice is gone. that would make sense.

Here is what Rolling Stone published re that:

quote:

While Stapleton technically could stand onstage and just sing, his guitar playing is a vital element of his live sound.

After James Hetfield's near incineration on Metallica's 1992 tour, he limited himself to singing, while an added player handled his guitar parts. But Stapleton is his lean band's only guitarist, and his idiosyncratic style, which relies heavily on choppy, rhythmic chords, would be hard to duplicate. His solos, meanwhile – like the one-note display he tears up in "Second One to Know" – are simple and spontaneous in their feel. To Stapleton, improvisation is key.
