Wasn't her husband someone on Garth's staff? I think I saw her for the first time in '93 at the Opry - she had just hit really big with the song My Baby Loves Me (Just the Way That I Am).

Funny thing is, as big of a star as she has become and has headline a number of tours, the last two or three times I have seen her, she was opening for Strait.

Maybe. I know her husband is a producer and I think he discovered her. I guess maybe he was Garth's producer as well maybe. I don't know.

I did see her about 15 years ago when my wife dragged me to one of her Christmas concerts. She was still gorgeous then, and my wife wasn't real thrilled at how many times I mentioned that. For my money, she's the best looking country music singer ever.

She was even able to overcome the short haircut phase.

I liked her in some of her short hair, but there were a couple of years she had the can-I-speak-to-your-manager short hair that was pretty bad.

The can-I-speak-to-your-manager 'do.
