They got out the skateboard thing by the late '80s. How Will I Laugh Tomorrow and pretty much everything after that is mostly metal.

They were somewhat shifting that way with Join the Army but after Join the Army it was Thrash Metal all the way. Actually they were doing the same thing as early Metallica but just didn't have the commercial success probably due to their hardcore roots. They probably don't get enough credit as being the trailblazers in regards to the mix of skate punk, rap/harcore, thrash. Of course I say that as a huge fan of Suicidal Tendencies.

That list 100% sucks.

Except for Tool, and maybe Dream Theater, I can't see any of those bands considered 'classic rock greatness'.
Ever.

The meltdown continues

Tool won't be classic rock. What will be classic rock in the future will be like Jack White or The Black Keys. Sorry to tell you that.

Interesting prediction.

Be honest...you locked yourself away in a survival shelter during Y2K and again in 2012, right?

"Classic rock" is a radio format for rock music from mid 60's to late 70's and will always be.

Nothing today will ever be classic rock by definition of "classic rock" being a specific era of music
