I figured this would be a video game or some weird Westworld, because why else would the previous dead team members be wearing the same clothes/necklaces?

right there’s a lot in this movie they don’t really talk about or go into. That scene with the skeletons that looks like them as they think they’re in an infinite time loop, the definite robot zombies, and the main zombie from the beginning that was no where to be found after that opening scene

The main zombie is the same one from the beginning.

Watch it again.

He is wearing dog tags the entire film.

An article that talks about the zombie robots...and yep some were definitely robots. WTF

From your article:

quote:

The first scene of Army of the Dead reveals that the original zombie, Zeus, has some kind of ties to Area 51. So there could be an alien connection to these robots, as Snyder pointed out. However, the theory about the government spying on zombies seems to make a lot more sense.

He's called Zeus because he's the leader at the Olympus casino. Same zombie confirmed.

man if so he looked like a shell of his former self. That opening scene made him look like hulk. They really didn’t showcase his strengths after that.

I don't agree with that article. The brains of the alphas are blue, or give off blue light at least. We see that confirmed at the end. There's also the fetus.

What makes you say that? I didn’t get that vibe at all.

I figured the Latino fella was using incendiary ammo.
Hence it catching the gas tank up..
And then when he shot that one zombie it's burning as it splits his head.
So no robot. Just really hot fire.

But I dunno

I remember when I first watched Dawn of the Dead and at the beginning of the movie, they were showing the broadcasts of everyone saying "we dont know" and they had Johnny Cash's "When the Man Comes Around" playing in the background, I knew it was going to be awesome. And it was. Hopefully this one is going to be another good one from Snyder.

From Zach Snyder

quote:

"I really wanted this sort of weird ambiguity to their origins — which, of course, we'll explore in the animated series, Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas," he continued. "And without giving away too much... If you pay close attention, there's a number of zombies that are clearly not zombies. You see normal zombies and then you see some robot zombies. Are they monitors that the government has placed among the zombies to monitor them? Are they technology from the other world? What's happening there?"

I liked it.

Possible Spoilers...

Yeah there's some stupid (typical horror/zombie movie) things they did.
Like trying to save someone you shouldn't and not hurrying to the helicopter near the end. Just to mention a few.

But I thought it was a pretty entertaining and enjoyable movie.

200mil in the vault of a Vegas strip casino seems low, right?

As soon as the security guy was forced with the group you knew something was up.

Maybe it was just a number thrown out to get Scott interested.

Just finished it, and thought it was a solid movie.

I definitely saw the robot zombie in the casino floor scene, and thought it was strange.

30 minutes left and I definitely thought one of the zombies was a robot when it’s head was blown off.

I thought it was solid but it could’ve been so much better.

To me it’s such a cool concept - heist movie with zombies in Vegas. That should have and would’ve been good enough. The nuke scenario and the guy backstabbing was just too much and unnecessary.

It didn’t even make sense - if all Tanaka really wanted was a zombie head, why not contract that out instead? Would be way easier than making a team go in and crack a safe, unnecessarily. The guy and Coyote got the head when they were 2v2 versus the same two alpha zombies that the whole team encountered right when they entered. They could’ve just done exactly that upon entry and turned around and called it a day.

And the nuke thing just was annoying. Everyone was incredibly nonchalant about a nuke hitting them in an hour. Having casual conversations and such. It took me out of the story a bit because it was too much that they would be so calm and not rushing, knowing a nuke was on the way.

Take both those things out, the nuke and the ulterior motive, and you have essentially the same movie but with less wasted sidetracked time and more time for zombie scenes that add to the story. Cleaner, simpler, better.
