can't believe Marvel is letting Whedon do the post-production work on their biggest competitor's anchor film

How are they a competitor?
If you want to see a movie, you go see it. Other movies don't change your mind.

Absolutely awful for him.

Now I can REALLY root for it to bomb because Joss Whedon is a raving mad lunatic. Joss Whedon is just a shitty person in general.

Nothing? I don't like the DEU?

Are you incapable of separating movie discussion from Zack Snyder's personal matters?

I won't feel bad if this movie bombs. This tragedy doesn't change what DC has done with their movies.

Again, I feel TERRIBLE for Zack Snyder and its a horrible tragedy. I'm sure he'll be taking a long time off.

I root for a movie to succeed, even if Shyamalan is a part of it. I want to be entertained.

Thats fair. I just think WB execs were completely focused on capitalizing on superhero movie money and traded quality movie making for a chance at a few quick bucks.

That is just terrible. As a dad, I simply can not imagine what he is going through.

There is no separation between Snyder and the Justice League movie. No matter who finishes it, it's his movie. No one is saying that you're required to root for the movie's success. But to dismiss its bombing as kharma or as being inconsequential to Snyder is just wrong.

The best case scenario is for Whedon to help the movie to end up as some form of success and for Snyder to find a happy professional medium where he can work in some capacity with Warner or some other studio while taking care of his family.

This suicide hit Snyder after years of professional struggle capped off by a demotion from being the chief of DC films. I can't imagine someone not wishing that the guy could leave with at least some form of success or sense of accomplishment.

I Must add that I actually really dislike Joss Whedon as a human being. I have no knowledge on Snyder being a shitty person on the same level as Whedon.

look at my post above you, extremely militant conservatives can't stand that he's an outspoken liberal... it's sad really

It all goes back to the hilarious zombie video from 4 years ago, and his dislike of Trump their supreme leader

While I got a laugh out of it back then, I would like to ask Whedon if he regrets making that. Romney was by all accounts qualified for the job and a good man, but the liberal threats about Trump fell on deaf ears due to how they treated Romney.

Ok, last political post... but yes and no probably. I think with the emergence of the tea party in '09 in such a strong form, Trump was inevitable either way, but someone as smart as Whedon knows he was part of the problem I would think

You're right, Warner Brothers and Disney are not competitors in anyway. Neither are DC and Marvel.

Introduced my 2 year old to Toy Story over the weekend, realized for the first time that Whedon wrote the screenplay.

Let me start by saying of course this is a terrible tragedy. I never wish anyone to undergo this sort of pain and suffering.

However, if you cant look beyond the surface and see this is WB taking a tragic event and making a brilliant PR move out of it, you are being duped. This happened two months ago and Snyder continued to work on the film. Without getting into the emotional side of the story, why wouldnt he have left right away?

Just over a week ago, reports came about that MAJOR rewrites and reshoots were being done and that Snyder was forced to work alongside Whedon. The reports even go so far as to say the movie has basically been remade. LINK

Again, this is a tragedy for Snyder and his family. It also gave WB & Snyder a way to part ways without sending alarms and neither looking bad. It even gets public perception on their side.

The film was in a fiery tale spin. Now DC is trying to patch it back together under Whedon. Who knows how itll actually come out, but Snyder is gone and this will not be his film.

With the movie in post-production, there is still work left to be done on the feature. As such, it has been announced that Joss Whedon will be filling in for Snyder to finish up the movie. Warner Bros. initially toyed around with pushing back the release date of Justice League

I want to say that the movie has a chance but if WB pushes the same release even Whedon might not be able to do anything with the chaos left for him to clean up.
