It's a fine movie but the fawning accolades it gets is over the top. It's a simple movie with a simple plot. Good acting and all but nothing super memorable about it.

Yeah I'm finding action movies more and more boring the older I get. John Wick was a snooze for me.

Forrest Gump is an incredibly overrated movie.

He's a mentally handicapped man who also happened to be an All-American college football player, Medal of Honor awardee, world class ping pong player, famous runner and multimillionaire businessman? Oh yeah, and he accidentally busted the Watergate break-in?

Yeah okay.

Look retarded, act retarded, not retarded. And he charmed the pants off that Jenny girl.

Correct. It's the Turkey Club of movies. It's satisfying and does what it sets out to do but in no way is special or exceptional.

Harrison Ford's acting in the Star Wars OT was horrendous, especially in ANH.

Tom Cruise, while an extremely weird guy, is a phenomenal actor.

As someone who loves old movies, it pains me to say this -- most movies from the Hollywood golden age (e.g. 1940s, 50s and early 60s) are profoundly overrated and overacted. I still laugh when I watch an old movie and see a scene where the woman does the move where she dramatically breaks away from the man, walks over to a window or a corner, and stares off into space while reciting a monologue.

Twelve O'Clock High is the best WWII movie ever made.

But it was Alabama, so it was plausible.

Gump is way overrated as is Shawshank, Star Wars series, The Hangover, and Avatar.

Predator is the best meat head movie of all time.

While we're on Star Wars (just talking OT), Darth Vader is the most overrated villain in the history of cinema.

He wasn't even really the bad guy in ANH; Tarkin was the bad guy, and he was way more sinister than Vader was. Vader was basically a glorified lieutenant in that movie.

And in spite of his badassery on ESB, he was completely neutered in RotJ. Seriously, all that "but I MUST obey my master!" BS was ridiculous.

Not an unpopular opinion; at least, it shouldn't be. Great movie.

I don't think Caddyshack is funny. John Candy, Chris Farley and fat comics, in general, aren't funny, either.

Napoleon Dynamite and Superbad were so incomprehensibly bad it's not even funny. Maybe people between 14-17 "got them" at the time or something.

And Juno, too.

The Last Action Hero was a fun/good movie ahead of its time.
