Pretty much my favorite movie ever.

It's been a while since I've seen the movie. The fight I'm thinking of came later on in the movie. At one point he's hit and just makes a weird gagging face. It's just bad fight choreography I suppose. It has stuck in my mind for years since the first time I saw it.

suspect we're seeing the same thing and interpreting it differently. If someone asked me to characterize Harrison Ford's acting in that movie, I'd call it subdued rather than wooden, but both words can describe the same thing. I don't have a problem with it because I expect a noir hero to be gruff, reserved, and a bit gritty, so Ford's acting worked for me. If he'd done the same acting in, say, "Raiders of the Lost Ark," then I'd have a huge problem with it.

You might be right. Maybe I'm being harsh. I think Ford is generally wooden but maybe he's more subtle and I don't appreciate it. He often seems flat, and lacking facial expressions. I liked him in Regarding Henry I think bc his character required exactly that.

Lucky Number Slevin

Watched that for the first time a few months ago. I thought it was predictable, and not nearly as light-hearted as the trailers made it out to be. It seemed to be over-clever, which dumbed it down.

Lightyears better and they didn't have half of the time that the Bella's did.

nothing super memorable about it.

What? Shawshank? Morgan Freeman's narration was not super memorable? Crawling through a mile of shite was not memorable? You'll find salvation within was not memorable?

I've only seen the movie all the way through once years and year ago. I remember a lot of it, and I have a hard time even remembering movies I saw a month ago.

I remember these things and I do like the movie but overall I don't find it that extraordinary.

The one with Leon? He had four fights where he went hand-to-hand a bit, but the Leon one would probably fit the parameters of "fist fight" best.

All of the replicants kicked his natural white arse - he really could only hang with Pris (a bit) and ended up shooting her to win. The first fight with Leon - he would have been killed except for Rachel. Zhora could have killed him, but chose to run instead. Roy could have killed him easily at any point during the fight - he toyed with him at first, then spared him at the end to make humanity ashamed of itself.

Both Zhora and Roy consciously spared him - so that he could consciously spare Rachel (pay it forward).

The move is so fantastic on every level that I can overlook things like somewhat wooden (fine, "subdued") acting by the leads.
