What the frick. This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. It's not the best, but it ain't last.

My only issue with WotW is that Spielberg tries to keep it almost "too modern," if that makes sense. It had touches of classic 1950s science fiction, but it needed more. It needed to be steeped in that inspiration. Like Darabont's The Mist. That would have worked better.
Yeah, I agree. That ending just doesn't work from what we now know about modern medicine. Virus protection would be of primary importance if we were to invade a planet. It really is as if the humans from Idiocracy somehow got a bunch of space ships to invade another planet and then just happened to forget the dangers of exposing themselves to this.
And what's with the hate for Minority Report on this thread?

Yeah, I'm not really a SPR fan, but c'mon; it was better than Minority Report .
I like SPR, but I think Minority Report is a better film. Aside from the Precogs (although a machine that could predict violent human behavior of individuals is highly feasible), it's a pretty accurate version of what likely faces humanity in the future. Those personalized commercials aren't far away.

There's just no way that Hook is dead last.
I haven't seen all of them, but this makes plenty of sense.
Outside of Hoffman's performance, Hook was a steaming pile of shite.

I thought Saving Private Ryan was boring as shite after the incredible opening scene. Still, 17 seems way too low.

The Temple of Doom is great, and my childhood favorite, but it's the Return or the Jedi of the Indiana Jones franchise (sillier, tailors to a younger demographic, lacks the scope).

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed The Terminal.
Hanks gave an amazing performance given how easy that role could have come off as cheesy.

I haven't seen it since I took my little brother to see it at the theater opening weekend, and I have to agree. I was 17 or 18 at the time though, so that may have something to do with it. I don't remember liking it all that much.
